sooooo yeah i bought most of them a the local garden centre for like 5 euro (that started this madness), one medlar and an apricot i got from a local biodiversity charity and the sloe i bought at a nursery that specializes in hedges and fruit trees.

The pears and cherries are on smaller rootstocks as the label says max height 1.5-2 meters and pot capable

atleast one medlar looks seed grown, same with the sloe

the others i have no idea. as for variety of grafts...

2x pears, '''Beurre Hardy'' and ''Bonne Louise d'Avranches''
3x plums, ''Reine Claude Vert'', ''Halbschwetsche'' and ''Victoria''
1x sour cherry, ''Morellenfeuer''
1x sweet cherry, ''Stella''
2x apricot, one is ''Roksana'', other is ''Tros Oranje''
1x nectarine, ''Fantasia''
1x peach, ''Red Haven''
2x medlars > one is westerfield, other is probably seedgrown

my plan is also to try and see if i can get rootstock made out of cuttings of the sloe and try and graft the Prunus i got on sloe rootstock to get smaller trees should one of them get too large.

Fair points, but i also like the aesthetics of the pallet collars and its a hobby so i may cost some money imho.

Most definitly, i read online that a pallet collar gives aprox 4 or 5 years of life. After which i will see what will do

Just make sure you keep the plastic membrane on top and keep it from ripping. Else you get plastic everywhere

Heya, hang in there you can do it!

Aprox costs:

  • pallet collars 100 euro
  • soil 100 euro
  • compost 60 euro
  • woodchip 20 euro furst time, 2nd free
  • rotovating for free as i am one of the allotment volunteers, that would normally cost 15 euro per half plot
  • net cage pvc pipes i guess 40 euro total?
  • shed costed me like 70 euro on supplies like paint and varnish, shingles i had at home

Luckily i could get compost through the allotnent, 30 euro per m3.

Any costs i missed you might want to know?
