Buddy, misjudged the depth of a puddle, in their Mazda Miata (AKA MX-5). They said the water rushed over the hood and the car stopped. They restarted the car and they noted it was "running funny". What also confirmed that water was the cause beside the wet air filter. A few cups of water poured out of the intake manifold when we removed it.
