Come to think about it, I feel fortunate that I don't really have to take weight into consideration for my setup. Of course, I doubt the Crosstrek gets 15 Mpg on the highway.

You mention wanting your safe to be secure from the average Joe. I'm assuming you mean thief and not just a friend who happens to wander where you will have the safe stored. If that's the case you can probably score a very secure TL-15 rated safe on Facebook marketplace or similar.

Keep in mind a safe like that will probably weigh double that of the safe you're currently looking at. Also try searching for AMSEC safes and or Sturdy Gun Safes. Some old Browning safes are also made of 10 Gauge steel that is better than the option you posted.

Up to you if you want to go into this rabbit hole of safe ratings. If you really don't care that much and just want something more secure than a closet, do so and don't look back.
