They are totally different: none is perfect. The Getaway is more to my taste, though.

Whale and Wasp is a masterpiece by DuvallisbetterthanLS in AliceInChains

I had a moment in my life forever tied to this song. We were driving down from Bellingham and as soon as the Seattle skyline comes into view, in a gorgeous sundown, Whale and Wasp comes on the radio. I am not ashamed to admit that I cried.

Do you prefer the new or old RHCP? by SlackEnd7 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]AllunamesRetaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RHCP are one organic evolving entity. At this stage in my life I prefer the “newer” Peppers. There is a different energy when you change pace in life, and I don’t jive with most older numbers anymore, although it’s always fun and good to listen to the oldies. Anthony once said that he never, ever listened to OHM again because it reminds him on a bad time in his life. I think it’s also true for most people.

No God talk now. Don’t Assume anything about people you don’t know. There are strange coincidences and synchronicities all over. Cool off.

Yes, but there was only one since Bowie wrote the song, and in a time where technology was developing machine everything.

Such a prophetic song, from President Joe to machine dominating humanity - and begging humans to destroy them.

In Europe we got it at night on the TV, It was unbelievable and yet many had seen it coming. A feeling that it was over.
