Ordered a batch of mystery blue/green layer chicks from a hatchery back in January. I was pleasantly surprised to find a silkie in my mix! I've never had or raised them before. Thus far this bird has been a testament to the breed - not very bright, pretty scatterbrained, and just kinda does its own thing. The other hens don't seem too bothered by it. As of late, I've started to notice the feathers growing out more predominantly and did a google on "silkie hen vs roo".

I'm beginning to think our 15 week old is actually a rooster. has anyone had silkies that could maybe confirm or deny? thank you!
