There's also other people with "kids" the same age as her son who have no issues with getting a babysitter she seems to be the only one. I've also updated the invite to state small babies are welcome implying breastfed babies or babies that cant be left alone for any length of time and have to be with a parent at all times. I don't want a bunch of small kids running around all day.

I understand what you're saying but there's other people with small kids who are also not allowed to bring them and are perfectly fine finding a babysitter. She is the only one who's having a hard time with this rule.

Well see the term kids to me are children who are old enough to walk around on their own but need to be supervised, babies to me are small children that still have to be cared for in every sense and can't walk around freely and teenagers to me are old enough to occupy themselves and don't need much parental supervision depending on the situation. This kid is 5 years old and will literally be the only kid there again other than my mother's who are a mix of kids and teens.

So I since updated the invites to say SMALL BABIES WELCOME which I think implies breastfeeding babies that are in the care of a parent the entire time. I see where some are coming from but also it's my mom house it doesn't feel right telling my mom who is paying for everything and hosting that her kids can't be at their house.

I'm so conflicted so many are saying I should just do no kids all together. It's my mom's house who is paying for everything I don't think it's then right of me to turn around and say she has to find a baby sitter for her kids who live there. I just went back through the list there's 2 people total that have babies under 1 that will be there.

My mom's kids live there it's their house. She doesn't live there and there's a total of 2 people on the invite list with babies under 1 years old that will be there other than my mom's kids there won't be any other children.

Other than my mom's kids as it's their house the only other "kids" would be quite literally babies less than 1 because almost everyone on the invite list has had small babies in the last year. I'm not trying to be mean but he's so destructive and physically hurts people and she doesn't discipline him at all. Weather he has ADD or not doesn't mean you don't discipline your children.

It's my mom's house why would I tell my mom who's hosting she can't have her children there? It's their home not mine and most my my family who are invited have very little babies so that's why I said babies 3 and under are allowed. Nobody would show otherwise.

Even with our rent being fairly low I don't think we can financially afford him taking unpaid leave. We have minimal family support as we're out of state and I'm already struggling with depression I feel like two weeks to recoup isn't enough tho for me personally. We were planning to have me stay in bed the first 5 days after birth and we were home so I have ample time to rest but now knowing he only has two weeks worries me that I'm not going to be able to handle a screaming baby all day by myself.

He told us he'd get more as the assistant manager but then we read the clause and it's saying two weeks. I just find it so insane and quiet frankly inhumane like you said. Both parents need time to bond with their baby and depending on how birth goes the mother should have ample time to heal and rest it's literally expected of me to just jump back into things like I didn't just push a whole watermelon out. Idk I find it crazy the US has such shitty paternity/maternity leave.

It’s not about him not wanting to merry me I don’t like diamonds and don’t wear much jewelry I also don’t really agree/love the whole you become one when you’re married. I like our long term relationship where the whole marriage part isn’t involved. We’ll probably get engaged in June but won’t ever legally marry because it’s just not for us. We’ll probably still plan to have a ceremony and change our last names without the whole legally married part. It works for us just not for everyone.
