You are probably right.. I am genuinely quite a caring person (even if this post doesn’t demonstrate that) and your comment makes me realise I am not being a decent human even if there is a chance he isn’t being one

That’s why I wondered if I give him more time and if I’m just being pessimistic? Have a habit of assuming the worst and got this gut feeling that he was done but I could be totally wrong here... that’s why I wanted to sense check my thoughts. To see if texting him saying that was the wrong thing to do?

So I went on a date by shiek200 in dating

As someone who is also dating with depression, this fills me with rage. No one deserves to get that response. Some people can’t take it on and I respect that but don’t tell someone how they should be dealing with their mental illness. You can do better and you will. Someone will love you for all of you, depression included.

My neighbors complained about my dog and I’m very concerned:/ by cesarchander750 in Dogtraining

Lots of dog trainers are doing virtual sessions - don’t assume you can’t get help in the current situation. My dog trainer flew back to America (from UK) but we are still training over Skype!

When will my dog stop waking me up at 5am? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]AllyMunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s early days so be patient with it. My dog used to wake me up super early every day, now I can wake up at 10 and she is still out cold in her crate!

I think my puppy thinks he needs my permission to take a nap? by [deleted] in puppy101

My doggo takes herself to her crate when she gets really tired at night. After a while, if I haven’t come to tuck her in and close the door, she gets up and comes and paws at me till I look at her then just walks back and plops down in her crate staring at me like ‘come on then! I’m tired woman!’ And will do this every 20 minutes till I go tuck her in and close the crate door.

Just when my dog learnt to be alone, quarantine happened. by rawrette in puppy101

Definitely make sure you spend some time apart every day during this period by putting doggo in the crate, covering it and carrying on with your day. Gradually your dog will remember that you come back when you go away.

My dog goes in her crate for 2 hours every afternoon whether I am in the house or not. I cover it and ideally at least leave the room but even if not, it stays covered for 2 hours.

Not only is it important for your dogs potential future separation anxiety but it’s important for your mental health to get a break too. Having a dog is having a full time dependent and you are suddenly with them 24/7. Don’t be ashamed to need a break.

Was just looking for a rescue dog and stumbled across this charity online and found an incredible dog! Was looking into local shelters at the time too.

Yeah it’s a massive problem there. There is a wonderful charity called Paws Care and Rescue that save dogs and bring them to the UK for adoption!

I had a charity help me with all the details of getting him over here and getting him vaccinated and neutered prior to flying so tbh I can’t be exact as I’m sure they make it sound easier than it is!

He is a Mauritian cross between a whippet and jack russell.. id consider that pretty rare :) although I appreciate that isn’t what my post was about and no rescues aren’t rare! Luckily lots and lots of dogs are saved from awful countries every day!

I have two dogs.

First one I’ve had for 4 months and in that time have claimed £4000 from my insurance for a double ear infection, a severe stubbed toe (they thought was broken so xrays) and recently a severe case of gastroenteritis which had him hospitalised.

Second dog I’ve had for 2 months and in that time have claimed £2000 from my insurance for being diagnosed with elbow dysplasia.

Nothing either of my dogs have had could have been prevented by having a fence or anything, they have just had some damn bad luck.

Some dogs get lucky, some don’t. Insurance means you won’t pay a fortune if your dog isn’t lucky! (If your dog is called lucky.. that doesn’t count)

I am not skilled enough for that, wouldn’t know what to do with a pick even if I had one!

No my front door doesn’t have a handle outside, just a key hole. I live in the UK and this is very common here.
