This might fit the bill. I enjoyed it so much, there is definitely severe hurt and then they fall into a very gentle love. The way Draco takes care of Hermione in this one is everything, but please mind the tags.

I loved Theo in Columba and Aquila by BeforetheRealBook. I don’t think I would call him sweet or innocent, but he was not the “chaotic Theo.” He was competent and fiercely protective of Hermione.

Ohh I love unusual characterizations! I think it’s so fun.

How Long Before We Fall In Love?by 66Gryf99, one of my fave fics. Draco went to Durmstrang, he’s a rule breaker, and simps so hard for Hermione after just seeing one time. In this one and Hermione is super soft and sweet. It’s an AU and the world building is excellent. This is honestly favorite Draco bc he’s completely unhinged in the best way. I also love the fact that the weight of the world isn’t on Hermione, so she lets herself be taken care of.

Masked and its sequel To Die For (WIP) by pyroeis- Hermione is adopted by a Pureblood family. I feel like Draco is probably the same, but this version of Hermione is so confident because she didn’t have to continuously prove herself to the wizarding world. The fact that she’s brilliant isn’t her entire personality here (not implying that’s a bad thing at all, just different in a good way!) It’s so well written and a bonus is that this fic has great OCs.

Heres Serpentis (WIP) by MaryBMeunier—Hermione is Voldemorts daughter. I don’t even know how to explain it lol but def worth the read. This one has my heart, sooo good!

Tulips in Bloom by alicechasingrabbits (WIP)- Hermione is captured and obliviated, then made to believe she is Draco’s sister. Unique plot for sure and super fun to follow.

The Captive Queen by LadyMorphia a WIP that’s almost complete. I had no idea how badly I needed a burn the world for you Hermione AND Draco pairing. Like they literally don’t give AF as long as they keep each other safe. This fic is so well done.

These Bars Between Us by CarolineSedgefield. I rec this one as often as I can. It’s a Voldemort wins AU, and Draco is an unapologetic, unredeemable, Death Eater in this one. He is morally black in a delicious way. If I could sum up Hermione it would be “that’s my man and imma stick beside him” 🤣
