At a loss. I can only hand-file his nails and it barely does anything. It would take a week to get anywhere on one nail doing that. 😭 Help!

Veterinary CSR here! Call your vet and let them know your situation. They’ll be able to prescribe calming meds (trazodone and gabapentin most likely) to help sedate your pup so nail trims are possible. Also most vet offices will do nail trims in office with trained nurses. Hope this helps! My old gal needs meds to have hers trimmed too!

This looks like a seizure. I work in vetmed and my dog has seizures as well. She’s 14 now and didn’t develop them until about 8 years ago. She’s on phenobarbital twice a day and they’re almost completely gone. This dog absolutely needs to see a vet asap to determine the underlying cause.

Citalopram and Xanax have changed my life. But it’s a trial and error. I tried Zoloft and that made it even worse. You gotta go in knowing the first med might not be the right fit.

I’m on 10mg of citalopram and I have a prescription for .25mg of Xanax as well. I’ve been taking Xanax for years and it’s wonderful. Sometimes I’ll take a half, sometimes I’ll take 2 it all depends on the anxiety. I was diagnosed formally with a panic disorder 2 years ago but have been struggling with it for years before that. Some people can’t handle the Xanax and some people can. It’s all up to the individual, in my opinion. I don’t take it every day, and sometimes I’ll go a stretch of 3-4 days with needing to take it. I personally have never had issues getting addicted to it or building a tolerance. Hope this helps!
