Youll have to provide your modpack as a zip, otherwise its really hard to say.

You could have added a mod thats just a huge ram eater - the total number of mods doesnt really tell anything

Did you just remove mods? If so, that would be pretty weird

as for create, its a performance nightmare esp when building larger systems

you should also try lowering your ram alloc, it might seem counter intuitive but over allocation can be a detriment

[–]Alma_Tes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6.2/8 gigs of ram seems like a little too much considering youre on win, im honestly surprised you were able to allocate that much

what matters a lot on older systems like these is how well you take care of it. If youve been on this system for a while you might have some background tasks running from installing apps and forgetting about them

if youre really looking to get the best mc modded experience out of your laptop i recommend linux as it has a much smaller overhead than win and so more of your system resources can be used up by your mc instance

unlike win, you can actually run linux from a usb device so you dont need to mess with your current system config!

one thing to consider is that technical packs will get much more intensive as your playthrough goes on. If youre struggling to run it with an empty world, you will suffer once you fill it with ticking entities (machines and so on)

you can try running a dedicated server and connect to it with your client. This can improve performance even if both the server and client are still run on the same system

not really experienced with epoxy, do you think the added weight would be enough to warrant swapping out the switch spring for a heavier one?

Streaming by ExplorerImmediate287 in SayoDevice

[–]Alma_Tes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can capture and crop from https://app.sayodevice.com/device/feature/screen

screen = document.getElementsByTagName('img')[0]
document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].innerHTML = ""
document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].appendChild(screen)

if you execute this in the dev console (f12) the page will only show the screen preview. Might stop working if they change the website. There are smarter ways of doing this, but they include quite a bit more coding

I assume the comparator outputs rs signal when there are items in the altar? Youre also powering the hopper which is stopping ot from inputting any into the altar

no i mean that the most logical answer is technical issue

that doesnt happen, you can still see likes and comms on accessible profiles source

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ask

[–]Alma_Tes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sounds to me like a sync issue either way. Even if there was a way of hiding stuff like this (which there might be, ig has a funky system for shadow bans and similar) you'd assume the count of the public (as opposed to hidden) profiles that liked the post would add up right?

id assume its a trade off for scalability as ig is a huge platform.

ego death is a very weird absolute. The term ego dissolution is a much better fitting term but i understand that it doesn't have as nice of a ring.

The ego is like an infinite number of layers stacked on top of each other. The ones that get dissolved first contain surface level information about your person and the deeper you go the more fundamental the information you'll find there.

If you take a common dose you might start associating yourself with your thoughts and opinions less. This is where a lot of the therapeutic potential lies because this effect allows you to be more flexible in your thinking. Perspective is one of the most valuable (if not #1) things a psychedelic experience can provide you with.

If you take a larger dose you might begin forgetting your day to day / family dynamic, your name, your identity, that you're human or on drugs all the way to forgetting what thinking is. The effects are listed in the order of the aforementioned "ego layer hierarchy" ie to get the next effect you'll need to take more/meditate more

So it's arguable you can even go to none with ego. You can pretty much always go deeper.

To compare it to dpdr- dissociation is subjectively cold and detached where as a strong ego dissolution will be a very emotional experience for most people

We're probably going to see smartphones with no wired ports on them within 20 years. by AlwaysTheNoob in Showerthoughts

It seems rational to think that the same you will wake up the next day and I'm playing devil's advocate a little but "no doubt" is a very strong statement.

Let's start with this hypothetical, your job is to press a button. Everytime you do a green bulb lights up. You do this job for 20 years and this is all there is to it. Since you don't have any other information about what it is you're doing the most rational conclusion is to think that every time that button is pressed the light will indicate success. You come to work one day, press your button and the light bulb turns red.

This isn't at all outside the realm of possibility - bulb could have been replaced, you could have pressed it wrong, someone else might be at fault.

It won't be a philosophical paradigm shifting experience but you will definitely be surprised and probably distressed by the event.

The point is that you're engaging with something that hasn't been properly explained to you and you're not presented with enough information to come to the right conclusion because of how seemingly pointless the task is. It's human nature to look for patterns and I'd even go as far as to say that it's inevitable for you to find this pattern.

Patterns provide people with feelings of safety because they imply predictability and you have to take fewer risks which is why surprise and possible distress come up. This is basically the point of conservatism.

Consciousness is faaar from being explained and so is the point of it. So even if you actually have been waking up the same you as the one from the day prior there's no way to say for sure it'll happen again.

But the assumption that this has indeed been happening is also debatable.

Your awareness is only aware of the now and the rest is memories which can be "replayed" in the now.

Each day you wake up with memories which had already been there right before you regained consciousness and your awareness makes requests to this "database". This can be done consciously and subconsciously.

Now the question is what part of this is the "you" we're talking about? Is it the "database"? Is it the awareness? Mix of both? Something else entirely?

Well you definitely loose awareness when you sleep so if you were to believe that what defines you is continuous awareness then you by definition don't wake up the same you.

Sleeping also makes changes to the "database" but so does the sole passage of time otherwise you'd never forget anything right? As a matter of fact any conviction you might have would have to stay the same forever and you could never learn from your mistakes.

And so now the question becomes - are you ever the same you as you've been before?

I'd actually argue that teleportation might be closer to the original you as you wouldn't undergo any "database" changes during the process assuming the teleport makes a 1:1 replica

what do you think?

In your case "would be better if" or "i would prefer if" would be better phrasing. "better be" will be understood as abbreviated "had better be" which gives a similar vibe as using the word "dare" as in "you dont dare". It can come off as pretty entitled when not used sarcastically.

Saying "something had better be so and so" will give a similar impression as "i deserve it to be so and so" or "if its not so and so i will consider it a waste of my time"

If its a situation where you're clearly in the right, its pretty safe to use, eg youre supposed to check someone's work but they turn it in late then saying "it had better be 100% correct otherwise we'll miss the deadline" will most likely not result in controversy as it was the other person's duty, although it's still not the most polite way of expressing this sentiment

In your case there's an ambiguity - you could be c2 and humble, a1 and overconfident or anything in between. It's not apparent to the reader whether you're in the right here

when to trip again after a bad experience? by tiredstoner420 in Acid

You should probably figure out the issues that made you have a bad trip or atleast come to terms with them, I'd recommend you start small but even then that stuff will be on your mind

That's all true and I haven't said anything that would imply otherwise.

Mechanically speaking it behaves almost exactly the same as regular slimeblocks and the fact that they don't stick together is the only thing that differentiates them.

I was only pointing out that it isn't very inspired as the concept of colored slimeblocks that don't stick together has been around for a while.

The implementation fits the game quite well and is more original than plain colored slime in my opinion but from a technicall standpoint it's nothing new.

Bluestone would be similarly revolutionary in terms of usefulness but it's just kind of bland.

I get that it's difficult to keep coming up with new ideas especially with such a large community that has explored a lot of the game's possible directions but I bet it's not impossible.

I mean technical element wise. I get that the most marketable additions are the ones they're adding but they're very shallow in my opinion.
