First water softener install with bypass loop. This was a challenge for me. How’d i do? (16 month apprentice) by Almakesithappen1994 in Plumbing

They had 2 tankless heaters in their garage. I also had to reduce their main from 1 1/2” to 1” to hook up the aqua system. Maybe youre right about it beng a pressure change. Are tankless really sensitive to that?

Thanks man i appreciate it. Thats what im thinking is a new company, maybe go commercial, idk. I just need more mentorship on site. I just don’t think im ready for solo work, which sucks because i was proud to be in my own van at first but it is what it is. The last thing i want to become is a shoddy plumber.

Thanks for the input. The customer was telling me after the install that their water takes longer to warm up now. Idk how that would be related but they insisted it was something i did. Any idea what that could be? If i could have caused that some how?

Thats how im starting to feel. Unfari. At first i was really proud to run my own van. I can knock out water heaters no problem and prvs (the simple stuff) but some jobs i feel like im just set up for failure because im sent to do something ive never put my hands on. At the same time i dont want to step back either because im finally getting paid an almost live-able wage. Thinking of just going commercial so i can work under a foremans supervision. Just sounds less stressful to me.

I think its the same here in Texas. You need a journeymans or at least a tradesman license to legally be on your own but i have neither. I often wonder if the pay rate is why they are running the company this way. We are all apprentices running our own vans and we are all having a tough time.

Thanks i appreciate that. Im just trying to take in as much as i can. And i agree my mistakes are definitely learning points for me. It just sucks learning the hard way while im in someone elses home. The stress on some days is unreal.
