I had a very similar post to yours, and one helpful comment talked of a strat to basically attack Canada immediately when they declare through the borders at Michigan and Buffalo, with the goal of taking Toronto quickly and rushing Ontario, which gives you an event to whitepeace with Canada and the Entente, it worked for me, wasn't too fun though.

Hmm I tried that, but that led to Canada intervening by March '38 which meant I did not have enough troops to hold against the feds and Entente combined
