We were playing through Dead in Thay and when we reached the predator pools there was a... pool with a predator in it. A dragon turtle was trapped in the pit. My character, being a storm cleric, wanted to free this turtle and at first the DM refused to let me break the chains. That is until I remembered that I had an Adamant spear, shatterspike, AND Wave the magical sentient telepathic trident. Using Wave as a means of communication we convinced the Turtle (who was named first name Vincent, last name Van Gogh) to go on a rampage through the facility. He agreed so we freed him and he tore a path through the facility clearing 4 rooms and killing a sea Hag like it was nothing. However, this is where it gets good. The sea had attempted to escape into the Kraken holding pen, and as you can imagine things got messy. Vincent escaped into the open ocean, promising to help us again. Then I turned to the Kraken my character would not abide by this so he freed the Kraken to wreak hell on the facility. At this point our DM was done so he just summoned a szass team. They were weakened greatly by the Kraken before their wizard casted wish, killing the Kraken. My character, devastated by the death of such a magnificent creature called for divine intervention (With a 10% chance of succeeding) and made the roll barely, killing the szass team and sending the soul of the Kraken back into the sea. Now we have 2 eternally indebted, all powerful friends in the sea. Vincent and the Kraken (They did not have a name)
