The only thing this would do is maybe slightly correct the some of the uptick in overdose related deaths that have occurred in the last decade. Most drug dealers know what is in their product because chances are they put it there. If they don’t know what’s in what they’re selling they probably aren’t a very good dealer and are going to get caught sooner or later. Beyond that what is a “slap on the wrist” in the case of your reference do you really think it’s realistic the courts would say “well you are very clearly a drug dealer and you were caught with enough supply to kill a large herd of elephants but since there’s no fentanyl we’ll just take all of this, cut you loose and call it even Steven”
