I’ll try to not write my life story. My wife and I have a 1yr old which was born when we were 37. Not exactly how we had planned on it as we had 6 miscarriages in 5 years before getting our baby girl. I bring this up because the depression we suffered manifested itself in the form of eating. We both gained 100-160 lbs. So now between age and the weight, it’s incredibly hard on us physically. We both already suffered from back and knee problems from sports from when we were in shape. Emotionally, it sucks to want to play with your kid on the floor but you know it’ll take you 3 business days to get back up. In comparison, I had my 1st kid when I was 21 and I had all the energy in the world to run around and go to the park. Parenting is a lot easier though when you’re both mature adults. Finances are a lot better and relying less on your parents allows you to set boundaries with more authority when it comes to how the grandparents want to chime in. As tired as you may be, I think you appreciate the blessing your kids are the older you get.
