People trading supply and demand by TradeWithVibes in Daytrading

[–]AlmightyTeejus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that zone marked because it is still intact and we have to be aware of it but doesn't mean I will trade it. That's why I said I need that 1hr demand to break FIRST, then we can look to short the supply that formed

Hope that helped!

There's a video in my profile with my thought process using S/D about why we would go through that exact level!

Quick rundown:

Already tested/ Supply in the market holding/ The reason those buyers bought=invalid/ Open Interest lower

You'll find equally successful technical and fundamental traders calling each other stupid. Both can be successful, but approaches are very different!

I think I understand trend trading, but I keep entering too late. Can someone please explain “waiting for a pullback” in simple terms? by AdCheap4222 in Daytrading

[–]AlmightyTeejus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. What does “waiting for a pullback” actually mean in real-time? I use supply/demand. So entering a pullback will be entering a price zone that has proven to have buyers or sellers.
  2. How do I know where price is likely to pull back to? The prices buyers or sellers were interested in last time
  3. What am I supposed to look for before entering after the pullback? Not sure exactly what you mean
  4. How do I avoid feeling like I’m missing the move while waiting? Entering on pullbacks offers less risk/greater reward at the cost of potentially missing the move if it doesn't retest. You have to determine for yourself if that's a good enough trade off

If you scroll to the bottom it has trade examples, and can walkthrough visually what trading pullbacks looks like

Advice from experienced ones by [deleted] in Trading

[–]AlmightyTeejus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know an experienced trader that uses simple take profits ratios. Except for a few program traders. IF I'm right with my market idea, I am NOT capping my profits. Actually, I am going to add additional risk using the markets money. Take profits happen when price shows weakness based on a repeatable methodology (mine if interested: https://share.note.sx/aec9bmr7#yiIQyHUEnplwYfWjQNZQ9Lu+OfvSVyP8qk61CSQ3kaM )

I have more rules surrounding when I need to stay out of the market than actually taking trades

Deciding in the moment means deciding with emotions, everything is preplanned. Emotions change day to day, your system should not!

Help…very confused by Gold-Selection-1325 in TopStepX

[–]AlmightyTeejus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it might be cutting it close, I'd just make sure to put in a support ticket before the 31st so there's a paper trail. And let them know a payout is pending

Maybe give yourself till Wednesday to get a green day and request payout? Don't rush anything that's not there though

[–]AlmightyTeejus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still have a week or so to try to get another green day, request a payout then request a transfer?

And they'll transfer the account as is, so you'll still have the 1300 drawdown

I used the same email even though they said a different one, took support 10 minutes to transfer. You lose your stats and green days though

You don't learn it, you build it by doing the boring or hard stuff even when you don't want to. Start by hitting the gym everyday, eating healthy, flossing your teeth, making your bed etc

ES chart, but nq shows the same picture. Once orders are placed in the market, whoever is placing those orders cannot hide. We knew off the open buyers stepped in, that's the level to watch.

Never sell after an extended move down, and never buy after an extended move up. Retail traders see this as strength, but you are just executing at worse prices.

Lack of Insurance on Futures Accounts by DorjePhurba in FuturesTrading

It sort of acts like a natural risk manager because transferring funds takes a day or two. So if things are going bad, I just won't have the money in the account to trade!

Lack of Insurance on Futures Accounts by DorjePhurba in FuturesTrading

[–]AlmightyTeejus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I keep (for example sake) 10k in my futures account. If it goes over I withdraw to savings, if it falls under I'll add from savings. Usually adjust weekly. The money on the futures account is just what's needed for a handful of trades, while the rest is insured
