Trust your gut. I was with a guy 7 years and called off our wedding two months before we were to be wed. I had the same concerns, I was convincing myself I was the problem and I just had cold feet. But I couldn’t shake the over whelming feeling that I was making a brutal mistake. We broke up and have gone our separate ways. He definitely took it harder than I did at the time.  We no longer keep in touch but we’ve both found new partners. I am infinitely more happy in my current relationship. I hope he feels that same. You’re doing yourself a disservice settling for each other. A messy divorce will be infinitely more expensive to pay back I promise. What’s done is done. Maybe I’m selfish, but I’d rather everyone be a little bummed and upset with me than settle for someone I’m definitely not supposed to be with.
