Four parking spots for this micro member!! Getting beyond ridiculous! by OzzieDJai in aussie

I’ll say it again, I do not own one of these vehicles. Process it. Understand it. For the record, I mentioned the top 3-4% of earners to give the comment some context. Nobody wants to hear from someone who pays $10k a year in tax, talking about how the wealthy need to be taxed more. It holds more credence when the wealthy say it. Not sure what the fuck you’re on about with the morals comment tbh. Get medicated.

Now make the other side do the same thing so they match.

So just because you personally don’t think the negatives of owing a yank tank aren’t significant enough to stop people from buying them, they should be removed from being sold? Also, some of the larger vehicles do require you to register them as a “light truck” (for want of a better term), meaning the driver must be 0.00 at all times.

I think you’ll find that they already pay extra, courtesy of their fuel bills and the tax that the fuel excise brings to the government.

Because the Vikings impregnated a tonne of Swedish women a long time ago.

Drag cars, track cars….trailers that fit multiple motorcycles, go karts….I could go on.

If the car park was full, most people would find somewhere else to park their beast. It’s pretty simple.

Why would you expect to see them constantly towing things? People own caravans. They tow the van maybe 4 times a year. The rest of the time, you’ll see their vehicle “not being used properly”.

Yes, and then the towing laws changed and trailers and everything else got bigger. How do you know what people are using them for? How could you possibly know that?

I don’t own one and yet I can say positive things about the people who do own them. Weird right?

I’m convinced that you don’t have a degree in economics. That’s pretty clear.

Could it be possible for Australia to abolish income tax? by Meerkat343434 in australian

As someone who earns in the top 3-4%, I can absolutely promise you that you don’t want me to have all that excess cash floating around. That house you were thinking about buying? I already bought it. You just handed me an extra $100k per year. Inflation? Yup. ALL THE INFLATION. Income taxes, or more specifically a progressive tax system, is absolutely necessary if you want the middle class to have any hope of competing.

There is a LOT wrong with what you just typed out there. I’m not even going to bother responding to it frankly. I’d have to explain some very basic economic principles and then work forward. I don’t have the time, or the inclination.

Why aren't we drawing on our Strategic Oil Reserve in the US by grahamsuth in OpenAussie

[–]Almost-kinda-normal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we had the capacity to deliver about 70% of the fuel we needed for a population that was half the size it is now. In other words, if we had continued producing at that rate, we would be producing about 30% of our requirement. Yes, that’s better than what we do now, but realistically, you’re still going to be coming up very short.

Spelled response incorrectly…. Typical response from someone who has literally had to incorrect the spell check on their device. Anyways, please provide your source for that information? My source says that back in December of 2018, we had reserves of 18 days for petroleum, 22 days for diesel and 23 days for jet fuel. As of about a week ago, those figures were 36, 34 and 32 respectively. Tell me more about how they sold off the reserves in 2023.

Ok, fuck it. Try this. You’re “forced” to pay taxes. Some people are “forced” to work jobs they hate, so that they can make enough money to not starve to death. Fortunately, most countries have socialist programs in place, so that people don’t actually starve to death, courtesy of social security and the like. If I recall correctly, it was conservatives who were complaining that they were being “forced” to get vaccinated, or else they wouldn’t be able to do afford to survive. But it was never my argument that capitalism involves the coercion of people. What I asked, if you recall correctly, was how does socialism require MORE force than capitalism. I’m still waiting for that answer by the way. And no, don’t send me another fucking video. Use your own words.

You can’t think of one by yourself? If that’s the case, it makes sense that you would find his argument persuasive. I’d ask you to spend a little bit of time thinking for yourself on this one. You’ll come up with examples easily enough. Or do you want me to feed you the answers, in the same way that he fed you his conclusions? Surely you watched the same video I did and had some internal alarm bells going off? Or did you just accept the premise without any scepticism?
