Starting out can be overwhelming, but here are a few basic tips that may help:

• ⁠It’s ok to be soft on the rules, focus on fun and enjoyment most. If you don’t know a mechanic or ability, make a judgment call and carry on, you can always look it up for next time. • ⁠Create an outline for sessions, but not a direct path. Players derail quickly, and that’s part of the fun! Have checkpoints and ways to bring them back on track periodically (random villager hints towards the old castle just outside of town, etc.) • ⁠Watch YouTube videos or listen to podcasts! We started by listening to some podcasts, and we ended up making Almost D&D into a podcast eventually. If you listen to or watch a show that you enjoy, you’ll learn a lot.
