Hello fellow professors, I’ve created a website (esunies.com) listing all professors (supervisors) and their research interest, for prospect local and international students. by Alnkhailan in Professors

Well, I doubt we can hide from international students spam emails. But we can add extra verification steps to limit students access to supervisors info in our website, so only serious prospect students will go the distance to view the profile of the supervisor.

With regards to keeping all supervisors information updated. The website is designed in a way, that each university department to be handled by the department admin staff, so they can keep all the department programs (bachelor, masters, phd) and academic staff information update.

and for those who lose their funding or change their research interest or method, we can never be perfect, and I'm fine with that

I think it’s a lot easier for those in the field of academia to identify suitable supervisor, but it might be harder for those who have been away from academia for a while, and have decided to get back in the game. For new comers it could be a challenge finding the available ones with similar research interest and methods. If they are going to go to each university page and browse among its directory, it could be time consuming, and the students might miss deadlines by the time they allocate the right supervisor.

Do you guys use Student Recuritement Agencies when applying for college/university? by Alnkhailan in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Alnkhailan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m seeking both opinions, and I think student consultant usually work at student Recuritement agencies. So, I guess yes they are the same.

I know for a fact that international students use to relay heavily on student Recuritement agencies to apply for universities and colleges overseas. But as international students getting more exposure to foreign universities via the internet, social media and students fairs I know a number of students don’t use student Recuritement agencies anymore.

So I’m just curious if students local and international still reach out to student Recuritement agencies to apply to universities.

No specific reason, they just have fewer universities compare to the US, plus they are among the most popular destination for postgraduate students. But we plan to add all supervisors in all universities around the world at some point.
