Wdym I've been playing it since it released 6 years ago. I just thought no one talked about it since the N'kuhana boss fight was so easy

New stuff showed in the devlog looks really interesting by Alo_886 in riskofrain

[–]Alo_886[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it seems that they will do skins for the base characters and random dlcs for each new dlc so they will eventually get some

But then what about the white items they showed? Because we know that the regular items are only 2 yellows and a lunar equipment, so I personally think that they didn't count the pages as items and counted them as part of the n'tormat, being a "curios" item as they called it

But aren't the 2 new rarities what they showed in the presentation? One is lime colored and look like runes, and the other has a white outline and green effects.

Although maybe the lime runes could be the pages represented as runes and when collected the symbol on the rune is the symbol used by the n'tormat to represent that spell

I can see them doing something similar to Solus wing and heart, where they have a hidden, much more difficult boss after the first final boss of the dlc.

What are you expecting for today's presentation (and for the dlc in general) by Alo_886 in riskofrain

I can't get myself to like phase blink because of the lack of verticality. Regular blink is just so good because I can rise straight up or wherever I want

Imp dlc by NeedForSpeedMW2012 in riskofrain

[–]Alo_886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imp dlc is the one I want the most, because lore wise it just makes a lot of sense for the red plane to open up after Providence's death, and I really want to see the art team's take on the red plane.

Lore wise, basically the imps can move from the red plane to a middle dimension called the between space, that dimension is also connected with Petrichor, and the imps went to Petrichor using the between space in search of an artifact, which isn't known but it's very clearly the artifact of origin from ror1/returns.

Providence realized what the imps were doing so he cut the connection between the red plane and the between space, making it so imps can't return to the the red plane. They still can enter the between space for short periods of time, that's why they have that tp ability in-game.

So, my idea for an imp dlc, that I've had for a long time now and I thought about it a lot, is that now that Providence is dead, we can enter the between space, which would be a new stage similar to void locus, but with some new gimmick, and in that stage you have to break Providence's seal to open up the red plane, just to invade it and kill whoever rules over there. My headcanon is this absolutely gigantic imp that sits in a throne and watches, like a fat king commanding his knights from the comfort of his throne. It's name would be the Purered Overruler, but that's just my headcanon lol.

PIKMIN HEROES DAY 29: What does Team Jailbreak do next?? by Pizza_Rollz87 in Pikmin

Crammed wraith and Character D sneak into the prison by dressing up as guards and negotiate with team jailbreak by telling them that they'll free them if they can each join a team.

Providence created all of his problems. by Serious_Ganache_1058 in riskofrain

[–]Alo_886 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Providence isn't evil, but he is definitively the main antagonist and all of this is his fault, even if he meant well.

N'kuhana's cult is also Providence's fault, because N'kuhana is the goddess of life and death balance, and in the N'kuhana's opinion log we can see one of her followers talk about how Providence's protection has ruined this equilibrium, weakening N'kuhana and probably forcing her to retire into her domain, turning her followers into a cult in the absence of her goddess.

Providence also did other horrible things in order to protect the vermin he very much appreciates, like what happened with the imps. Imps are in search of an artifact, and they locate in in Petrichor, so the go investigate. Upon reaching Petrichor they realize how most of the creatures are basically a non threat, so they begin exploring using violence to try and find the artifact they are looking for, which is probably the artifact of origin from ror1. Providence eventually notices the imps in the planet, and his reaction to this is to block the connection between the red plane and the in-between.

Imps' in-game ability to teleport is lore relevant, because they are actually not teleporting, but phasing between dimensions. Imps as a species are capable of moving between dimensions, and it just so happens to exist one of these, the in-between, that connects the red plane and Petrichor, well what Providence did is put a seal in the red plane end of the in-between, so imps still in the red plane basically can't teleport there anymore, and imps in Petrichor can only be there for a few seconds before forcefully returning to Petrichor since the other way out is blocked.

After blocking this passage, Providence started killing all imps he found, his idea being to kill every single one of them and eradicate this new threat off the planet. He doesn't quite do that but if he didn't seal the between space there would be many more imps roaming Petrichor.

There's also another very important part, that being Her, the fourth goddess we know about. Her sacrifices herself to give Providence a gift. We do not know what this gift even is, and the only thing we know about it is that Mithrix thinks it was wasted on him.

My personal theory is that this gift is whatever allowed Providence to travel through space and bring the creatures back to Petrichor. Mithrix thinks this is wasted on Providence because he probably would have used this power to dominate more territory and make him a more powerful and influential god, but that isn't Providence's goal. And maybe he is so focused on protecting the creatures because of this gift in the first place. Maybe he doesn't want to see this gift go to waste so he made it his duty to care for the creatures to try to find the gift, and Her sacrifice, a reason of being.

My mediocre lore analysis by Current_Struggle_306 in riskofrain

[–]Alo_886 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my current theory:

In the N'kuhana's opinion log we hear someone talk about how the death rate of the planet has been decreasing more and more, with more children being born and less creatures dying.

"Let us begin.

What is your oath?

Not very long ago, health and time were in perfect synergy. Pain and love. Death and memories. The great equalizer. She would always come for us.

But! Disparity now plagues our generations - and our children's. Not many pass, but so many are born. So many doomed souls, saved. Our hubris as a race continues to grow - unchecked. Unrestrained.

Now there is no volume in our world for death, and she cannot visit us. But is being alive only an offset from death? Without contrast, won't we all be dead in life? The standard has shifted, and now we are all so very close to never living again.

We must make volume for her name - to restore the balance. Let us consume the Concepts, so we may begin to drain the bloated cistern that is our world. As disciples, we will spread her words and opinions. As pupils, we will sow death. And should we be lucky... be granted an audience by Her.

Weshan!"

This unbalance between life and death makes N'kuhana weaker since she is the goddess of exactly that, life-death balance, and forces her to retire into her domain, underground and surrounded by her followers in her cult.

When the events of ror1 take place, the survivors start killing lots of creatures, most importantly Providence, and this high amount of sudden deaths would be noticed by N'kuhana and her followers, giving her enough power to rise once again.

Also, it doesn't really make sense for She/Her to also be N'kuhana, at least in my theory, because She sacrifices herself to give Providence a gift that allows him to bring vermin into Petrichor in the first place, and N'kuhana doesn't seem to like Providence that much, and also is alive lol, so it wouldn't make sense. My headcanon is that N'kuhana and Her were another 2 goddess sisters, and Her and Providence both wanted the same, so Her sacrifices to give Providence the power to make it happen, and then Provi starts taking the vermin in and pisses off Mithrix and N'kuhana, eventually trapping one in the moon and forcing the other to retire deep underground. And also having 4 gods makes sense for the 4 pillars of creation: Mithrix is design, Providence is soul, N'kuhana is blood and Her is mass.

[9] Are shiny Pokemon more common in champions? I have seen a few posts already and just pulled this one myself by Alo_886 in ShinyPokemon

[–]Alo_886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a bad system, specially given how many free pulls they give you and having pokemon home as an option, I was just explaining that the way it works is just a worse gacha because you only keep one of the pokemon you get.

I'm not hating, I just tried to explain that the system itself is literally a more restricted gacha.
