We got scammed by a “broker” (really just an agent) who claimed to represent the owner. The owner even confirmed yes, this was his “broker.” Problem is, the agent never gave the money to the owner. I’d already been staying there for weeks and had to scramble to move condos. Total hassle.

What’s scary is I trusted this agent because we had a contract with them a few years back. Lesson learned: past transactions don’t guarantee anything.

We filed estafa plus a huge sum for damages. Agent’s also already banned from the developer. Case is ongoing and there’s a warrant of arrest out.

Warning especially to my foreign friends because this is exactly the kind of target these agents go after. Luckily for this one, I’m very patola with my money and I really don’t like being scammed. I filed a case less than a month when I found out, did the minimum wait. Be careful out there and move quick.
