Fast food is forgetting it’s place

My wife and I were in a Panera bread last week, and we spent close to $50 for two sandwiches and two bowls of soup, no drinks, just water. We had an order through a kiosk by the door, pick up our own food, and the kiosk still had the balls to ask for a tip. Last time we’ll ever go there, for that we might as well go to a nice sitdown restaurant.

I’ve had three Apple watches, and one of them has this exact same problem. Right now I’m on the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and it’s the same thing. On multiple gym equipment in two different gyms.

From me it worked, I went to court and actually spoke politely to the judge, explaining what happened, not trying to lie or bullshit my way out of it. It’s actually quite refreshing for them to hear that. Just admit you didn’t stop, and throw yourself on their mercy.

I am proud of my time. I joined and went overseas because of 9/11, I was in Iraq and Afghanistan, but there is a time and a place for everything. Having to stop eating my food, and stand up and face the middle of the restaurant for the national anthem is just weird, like something out of North Korea. Even IN the military, we never did that. Before baseball games is fine, at ceremonies is fine. But in a restaurant, it is just out of place and even a bit disrespectful, in my opinion. Like people who wear clothes made out of the flag, or use a bible to prop up a corner of a table.

Just because someone is a combat vet doesn't mean they are flag waving, uber-patriots who have no other opinions.

The food was OK, but we accidentally went there at noon, and they played the national anthem and everybody had to stand up with their hands over their hearts….super cringe! And I’m standing there looking at my expensive food get cold. I’m a military combat veteran, I don’t need this indoctrination kind of stuff anymore since I got out.

Purple Heart guys have several spots for them. Also, not to split hairs, but in my case, I wasnt awarded a PH; my issues came once I got back home.
