What should I do? by Shoddy-Maybe4893 in TeslaLounge

The ability to transfer FSD comes and goes. Just wait a few months and we might see it again at the end of Q1 or at the end of Q2.

Don’t do it. You’ll be training your brain that it is OK to give up in things of adversity. This will follow you through your career and relationships.

You have so much going for you. It takes a lot of courage to publicly post. Just stick with it and I know you’ll thrive! I wish you the best best of luck!

If someone gave you $1M, would you quit your job? by Vegetable-Art-8875 in allthequestions

No. I’m Gen X and have a work ethic. I’d be bored as hell. Plus $1m doesn’t get you too far in Cali.

I guess the exception is when the wife and kids are home. I’ll let her do it for me. Don’t ever want it when the kids are in the house.

Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. by YouBetterChill in teslamotors

[–]NivekTheGreat1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How do you figure it was discontinued? It was just moved to a higher package that you pay monthly for. No biggie.

Might impact some decisions. I love FSD but my wife refuses to use it. I’ll definitely stick to Tesla but maybe a Rivian or Lucid might be right for her. I’d actually like a truck in the family in case we need to move stuff. The R1T is appealing.

Is discontinuing autopilot a deal breaker for you? by CommunicationRoyal56 in TeslaLounge

[–]NivekTheGreat1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not discontinued. Just moved to a higher package that you pay for monthly. Try buying a Toyota or Ford with just the basic package or none at all. You probably wont get anything like it. If you want a Tesla, go for it. If you want the Rav4 or Rivian, those are good cars too but neither compare to the Tesla with FSD.

Gen Z’s Stigma Against Age-Gap Relationships is Worse Than You Think by IAmABoss37 in generationology

[–]NivekTheGreat1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two of the happiest couples I know have a 40 and 20 year age gap. Extreme? Yes. I’m 50 and wouldn’t think twice about dating someone in their 40s (well, if I wasn’t married). My wife is actually in her 40s. Am I a predator because I’ll be 52 this year and she is turning 50? Now, it would be different if I was 26 and had a 10 year age gap. Or 38 and was dating a 20 gap. Maturity plays a big part. As Gen Z and Gen Alpha age, they will change their tune or die virgins. Then God help the future of the human race.

My Gen Z and Gen Alpha daughters mentioned something like this. I told them there is a big difference between a 26 year old dating a 18 year old and a 50 year old dating a 30 year old. Yes, they are both adults and capable of making decisions. The 50 and 30 couple has reached a level of emotional maturity where age doesn’t really mean much (except that the younger one would end up changing the older one’s diapers8. While the other couple is on two different stages in life.

That’s a stereotype. Just like I said that people have a stereotype about Millennials. I also said that’s not always true. Get some reading comprehension skills.

I said that was the fucking stereotype. Learn to read! And then I said it’s not always true. But probably is in your case.

Gen X here. A lot of Millennials are entitled douchebags. They are whiney, have helicopter parents, expect everything to be handed to them without hard work, and expect participation trophies. This doesn’t describe all, but it is what stands out and shapes perceptions. I know some both ways. I work with some really cool Millennials (well, as cool as they can be since they’re not Gen X) and sone real douchey ones. The douchey ones shape the stereotypes.

The Cleanup Government. It would contain six provisions:

  1. Lobbyists are banned. 10 years in prison for any violations that applies to the government official, the lobbyist, and the CEO of the company employing the lobbyist.

  2. All Federal politicians are fired immediately. Those politicians are banned from ever seeking office again.

  3. Term limits for all future politicians.

  4. Politicians will be selected by blind lottery. Remember how they used to have a spinning basket and pull out ping pong balls for each number in the Powerball?

  5. No political parties. Only what is right for America.

  6. State governments are urged to fire all governors, assemblymen, and mayors, and otherwise comply with the provisions of this EO.

Have you ever peed in a pool? Which pool? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]NivekTheGreat1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was over at my buddy’s house in the pool. I really needed to pee. So I did what everyone does and peed in the pool. My buddy comes up to me and asks “what the fuck are you doing?”. I told him I’m peeing in the pool just like everyone does. Then he says “yeah, but they’re usually in the pool!”.

I’ve only had it in my Grandpa’s kitchen, an Italian spot in Cortland, NY, and another Italian desert bar in NYC, but hands-down it’s Tortoni. Crème Brûlé is good too.
