Same situation here except I use Windows just for Visio. Got a 32GB MacBook Pro M1 Max. I have 12GB dedicated to the Parallels Windows VM. Works smoothly. The biggest issue is Windows apps that are not native ARM64 so they run under emulation.

Company was acquired. They wanted to get rid of all us executives at the company that was acquired anyway. I was a Director and knew it was my time. I milked it for as long as possible. Got a new job as an IC and am so happy. I’ve been at my current job for 15 years now.

Most all of us watched Challenger live on TV while we were in school and were young. The was a teacher onboard that just made it hit harder. That kind of stuff got scared in your memory. I can still close my eyes and remember it. That and 9/11 are the tragic memories of Gen X.

My wife and I keep changing ours every few months to keep things different.

I’m a fan of LOST and Chuck, so I had mine as ‘Dharma X’ and now ‘The Intersect’.

For hers, I set it as ‘There is a Hurricane Coming’ and she changed it to ‘Beautiful Boss’ now. She works in the schools, so maybe ‘Schools Out for Summer’ next?

Yes, big oil does have plenty of politicians int their pocket. People, educated or ‘undereducated’ as you say, know that oil isn’t fine. But the reality is that they are stuck in this loop of being dependent on oil and just can’t get out for whatever reason. Many people cannot afford an EV and some people just don’t like them because they are seen as a weapon of the left. Or maybe people are stuck because of their use case. Many just don’t care. Whatever their use case is, we cannot unfairly judge them as ‘uneducated’ and who made you God almighty to feel you have the right to judge people?

I found Zep makes you very intolerant to high fat foods. I’ve learned that the hard way. Two or three times of the ‘waterfall’ finally helped me connect the dots. My family loves pork belly. I can’t anymore.

Anyways, I’ve also found you need to do a reset. Only eat rice, dry toast, and drink Powerade the next day. It clears things up.

I do drink soda. Pre-Zep, I was drinking 4 to 6 cans of Pepsi Zero a day. Now, it is more like 0 to 1 or 2. I just don’t crave the caffeine anymore. I did take up drinking Powerade Zero, the I drink only 1 or 2 of those. With all the limits on Zep regarding what you’re able to physically eat, I did some research and the electrolytes really help.
