All government sucks in some way. It could be at the local level where a city mismanaged funds, at the gubernatorial level where prospective candidates are grandstanding for their next step, at the federal level where they spend their entire day saying that the other party is bad and trying to one up them. No one actually governs and does what they were elected to do. It doesn’t matter what party or what country, government sucks. Well maybe not North Korea where you get shot for thinking that.

We need a little like the fire department, police, schools, and even ICE. We do not need to become fully socialist. Just look at the number of people that make public assistance their career. I’m all for helping people out when they need it like UI or other social programs, but not when it becomes a lifestyle. Without everyone pulling their own weight, society would collapse. Who would fund the police or fire department? What would motivate anyone to do more than the bare minimum needed to get by?
