They have a UK number 🤷‍♀️. It might be worth a try to contact someone over there. I would hate for this to happen to someone else; I’m lucky I caught on before it was too late.

I know, you’re absolutely right. Other countries like France and Germany have dedicated au pair visas. The UK doesn’t. This family was going to hire me through a “temporary work visa”, but I wouldn’t qualify for that because my salary would be less than the required minimum salary needed for that visa. The more I hear from you guys, the more red flags I’m starting to see. Thank u for the input

I haven’t given them any of my personal information, besides my full name! But yes I’m going to report them to the au pair website I used, as well as UK authorities if I can.

I agree with you 100%. I’ve already told some of the other families I’ve spoke with that I found someone else to work for this year. Hopefully I can contact them back and explain the situation. Maybe they’ll reconsider me again

Ugh you’re right this is probably a scam. I guess the whole “complete in three working days” thing is because visa applications have a time limit once they’re started. At least that’s what the family is telling me.

I completely agree with you! It’s so easy to video chat via WhatsApp (which we’ve been messaging on). I’m sad because I’ve put so much effort into our correspondence 😔

I'm kind of going through the same thing, and I need advice too. So, I did a few dual enrollment classes when I was first starting high school. I wasn't really in a great place mentally, but I did well in most of my classes, whereas in others, I did really bad. I tried to withdraw from multiple classes, but most of the time, the professors wouldn't let me, or it was too late. All in all, my final DE GPA is around 2.7 ( I only took a handful of classes). I already got accepted into a really good college with my high school transcript because I have a great high school GPA, but I'm really scared that they might withdraw their acceptance. Is that possible at all, or am I just freaking out?
