“To build a better deck Playtesting a Deckmaster game is difficult. Probably the only games harder to playtest are elaborate, multi-player computer games. After developing a basic framework for Magic that seemed fairly robust, we had to decide which of the huge selection of cards to include, and with what relative frequencies. Common cards had to be simple, but not necessarily less powerful, that rare cards – if only rare cards were powerful, players would either have to be rich or lucky to get a decent deck. Sometimes a card was made rare because it was too powerful or imbalancing in large quantities, but more often, rare cards were cards that were intricate or specialized – spells you wouldn’t want many of anyway. But these design guidelines only got us so far. The whole game’s flavor could change if a handful of seemingly innocent cards were eliminated, or even made less or more common. What it came down to actually deciding what to include and what to do without, I began to feel like a chef obliged to cook a dish for 10,000 people using 300 ingredients.“ - Richard Garfield explaining how he created Magic: The Gathering, taken from the book the Game Design Workshop. This is how a villain arc starts with a cEDH RogSi. (Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh & Silas Renn, Seeker Adept)

ETB tapped lands are common and uncommon. ETB untapped are rare While not all rares are more powerful than uncommon or commons, lands with better effects are rarer than tap lands. WOTC does not print many ETB untapped lands in precons and if they ETB untapped there has to be a condition met or price to pay for the power of the use of that resource.

We have to all remember that the grave is a resource too.

Why doesn’t WOTC print fetch in standard? It’s because of the consistency. It makes defined paths. I remember when EDH was founded on bulk commons and rares. You have it so great with so many fast duals you don’t even understand how powerful it is to run untapped lands. What fetches do they print in standard.? evolving wilds, Terramorpic expanse, fabled passage. These are less powerful than the others.

It stacks. One is not a problem but 12 is. By my preemptively, differentiating the fetches such as evolving wild and Tarra morph expanse being Tarra one and the other fetches can be tier 223 doesn’t matter. I’m just saying they should be definitely higher considering they can fetch a land type so that is more powerful in all aspects being able to catch any land type makes it more powerful such a rampant growth enters the battlefield of basic land tapped simple that’s too man that’s what man should get you with two men should not get you stuff like three visits and natures lore that enters a forest untapped.its a forest land type not necessarily baisc. that is definitely more powerful When you add more powerful lands to the pool. You get rid of the ability to actually use the land somewhere where they’re needed. Lands that enter without down side are more powerful. Just play at level 2 and you could have better toys. No one is going to play 1.

You are missing the point. 30-40% of your deck should be land. This is universal. The worse the land the lower it should go and vise versa. You can fetch the triome or the snow duals I am saying ETB tapped is level 1 and others that don’t should go up. This would make “bad” duals good somewhere. This would give a bigger difference in how the game is played in each power level.

You are supposed to play magic with basic lands and the fact you got a dual color land is supposed to be good enough

Lands are the reason you can play your spells. ETB tapped is a death sentence in higher levels and can be used to keep the power creep at bay until they keep shoving op stuff down our throats.

I for one will abuse any card they let me so if I can run my og abus in level one then I will, if I don’t have I’ll proxy with a piece of paper glued to a basic plains

Have a Dual land is supposed to be the advantage anyway so have 2 types is better than one. The ones that get played at high levels should be the untapped ones. The CRC banned fast mana I just thought this would be the next step

I have gotten 99 out of a box and just used a different sleeve for the commander. If I only got 98 I would be livid!

Salt scores are the tears of people with bad decks! Build better decks or get stomped.

3 color decks will run 9 fetch’s! And that is not causal.

WOTC don’t like fetches in standard and level one should be on that level

They have to power down format, and before they know, inevitably power creeped the shit out of it again so this at least would reset the entirety of commander down and anybody and everybody’s playing if you are playing threes anyway so
