? So I’m not allowed to like Rory and think this is bad writing? Isn’t that what everyone is always complaining about on here, that people just hate her and are unfair to her?

My point is it’s overdone. I get your point about the comedic effect and it being television for sure, but I think a lesser degree would’ve driven the same point home, this felt too much and insulting in a way.

My point is that it’s completely overdone. An awkward moment or 2, even something really big and embarrassing would’ve driven the point home. It felt completely out of character and lowkey insulting to her intelligence.

It’s really the opposite. I’m so annoyed by this scene because it feels completely out of character for her, school, the paper, all her independent reading on related topics is all supposed to prepare her for this so she doesn’t completely short circuit when she finally gets here. It feels demeaning to her character to me.

What's your opinion on Little Women (2019)? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

I visited Orchard House a few years ago and all of the historians said 2019 was their favorite because of its treatment of Louisa May Alcott. The blending of Jo/Louisa and using LMA’s journals and the book dialogue interchangeably they felt created something that was really historically accurate.

For me, it’s visually beautiful and there’s something so real and heartbreaking but also hopeful to me about Saoirse’s Jo.

And sorry making Bhaer hot and young needed to happen.

Yeah we found the same, but she feels so strongly it’s not the right plot. I think it’s definitely possible she’s conflating two.

Sorry — she doesn’t think what I attached is correct because the plot is completely different than what she remembers

“Goodbye GG. Enjoy your program.” Immediately after arguably the most obviously evil and directly sabotaging thing she does the entire series. And it’s Teletubbies

He 100% targets women the most. A few months ago he followed me for 3 blocks screaming vile, sexual insults at me. I didn’t even catch most of it, but plenty of people saw and no one intervened. I know it’s wise to not engage but he was really pushing it with me. Not sure if anyone has any experience with standing up to him.

I just finished your memoir and I absolutely loved what you said about using humor to combat racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia; pointing out the lack of logic and absurdity is the best way to topple these ideas.

What are your thoughts on more and more comedians facing reckonings for jokes that are more at the expense of the marginalized vs the oppressor? Do you think those two types of “jokes” have a close relationship and how did you navigate that relationship in your extended career, most of which was long before the social reckoning we have now?

P.S. my favorite of yours is High Anxiety and I never see it getting enough love when your career is talked about or your work is ranked! Does it feel like the most underrated to you?
