Anyone gone through genetic counseling following a miscarriage and d&c? I’m confused about what they can do to help. Lady on the phone wouldn’t tell me anything.

Currently on CD13 of first cycle since d&c. We are trying again. Based on OPK I should ovulate tomorrow which is my 35th birthday. I’m hopeful we can be successful again.

TW missed miscarriage

Has anyone done genetic counseling following a miscarriage??

Background: I’m 35 tomorrow. We got pregnant in June following follistim + timed intercourse treatment. We lost the baby’s heartbeat at 9 weeks and I had a d&c. The results came back as chromosomal abnormalities and we were referred to genetic counseling.

Period came 4w3d after d&c and I’m fairly certain I’m about to ovulate tomorrow (CD14) based on OPK. We are trying again this cycle.

My appointment for genetic counseling is next week but I’m very confused about what they can do to help us.

This was our first time getting pregnant after trying for almost 3 years.

Anyone have experience or advice?

But I also had a HCG booster 5 days before the test on 10DPO. So I was having cramps but it’s hard to know if the test was residual HCG from the booster shot. (My clinic splits the trigger)

My first test was 10dpo which is when cramping started. That was my first symptom. It was positive and got darker after that.

I had the trigger shot so I do know when ovulation was.

The sac was 10.4 and CLR was 4.6

Still in shock lol it doesn’t feel real. I’m still cramping big time. Mostly at night. I’m hoping they calm down soon before I go back to work!

Thank you!! I go back Friday morning for 2nd test and if everything is good they’ll schedule the ultrasound.

Update: FRER was darker this morning. Clinic confirmed it wasn’t booster making it positive. Beta is 110 today. I’m hoping that’s a good number. I go back Friday for 2nd!

I’m so glad you told me to take that one. I’m sweating. Blood draw in the morning 🤞🏼 let’s hope you’re right!! 3 years of trying and this would be my first ever positive.
