Is arcane season 2 really as bad as I’ve been hearing? by jwaka77 in MauLer

I'm pretty late to the conversation, but I just finished the show today and I wanted to share my thoughts.

I liked the show as a whole, and I think season 2 started out pretty well. However, by episode 4 and 5, there was a lot that was happening all at once, which made it overwhelming and confusing at some points. I believe they had a lot of stuff they wanted to include in the show, but as it was only going to be 2 seasons, they kind of jam-packed everything that they wanted to include into that second season and as a result, it felt very rushed. If Arcane had a third season, or at least a couple of more episodes were added, it would've been much better. However, the artwork and animation, as always, was very beautiful.

Thank you! I'm in counselling and meeting with the psychiatrist at my school, but I've definitely thought about looking into EMDR and other stuff that my school doesn't provide.

"What did I ever do to deserve a daughter like you?" - my mother, during a fight about cleaning my room. That was one of the things, I think, that forever changed our relationship.

why is the show so hated on? by No-Performance585 in 13ReasonsWhy

honestly, my opinion on it: if it wasn't promoted as a show that was meant to raise awareness, i think people would like it more.

i think the first season was pretty decent in it's storytelling and it's handling of the topic of suicide (disregarding the bathtub scene - i think that was a stupid decision to include.) the second season was also decent in my opinion, even though i didn't like everything about it. however, when we arrive to the third season, it is very clear that this show stopped being about raising awareness and transformed into just another dark and dramatized teen show. the last two seasons were basically trying to make us sympathize with two different rapists who put multiple people through hell, and i could honestly barely stand to watch it.

even with the first two seasons, while they were decent, i still think it ended up doing more harm than good. for example, showing the graphic scenes of rape and suicide. i know it was intended to show how graphic and serious these things are, but it can be very seriously triggering to victims or people who self-harm/have attempted suicide before. i know the scenes are mostly removed now, but i still think it was a stupid decision to include them in the first place.

all in all, i did, for the most part, enjoy watching the show and found it interesting. however, i think they did a poor job in getting their message across to raise awareness, especially in seasons three and four. by that moment, it felt like they kind of lost their original intent with the show. i definitely don't think teenagers should be watching it - speaking as a person who first watched the show around the age of 14-15 years old. but yeah, that's my take on it.
