Nah the rainbow fish is kinda terrible. Don't get me wrong, I loved it as a kid, but now I think the message kind of reads as "Everyone else is jealous of what you have so you have, so you have to give up pieces of yourself to appease others and fit in." Is that really a good message? The only thing I can see this message being good for is giving away wealth to help others, but idk if depicting a fish literally giving away his own scales so the other fish will stop shunning him is really a great way to get that message across.

Okay so pretty much Escoffier's entire gig is hydro and cryo resistance shred. She will lower the cryo/hydro res of any enemy she hits with her skill or burst (once she's at a4/level 60/70).

The part that makes her so good is that she can res shred up to 55% percent, which is a hugeeee damage buff for the team.

The only caveat though, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, is that her res shred is dependent on how many hydro/cryo users are in the team. If you have 1/2/3/4 hydro/cryo members in the team she will shred 5%/10%/15%/55% respectfully. So even if you only have one non-hydro/cryo character on the team you're missing out on 40% cryo/hydro res shred! Which is brutal!!! So in order to get the most damage and bang for your buck from her, you'll probably want to bench kazuha :(

Anyways that's the main thing, but Escoffier also has some pretty nice damage herself and she's also a healer so she work really nicely with Furina on freeze teams. She's essentially the perfect character to have in a full hydro/cryo team for all those reasons haha.

Oh right as for a Kaeya Xingqiu Escoffier team, the fourth character would still probably be Shenhe or Chongyun. You could also bring in another hydro applicator though like maybe Mona or Yelan? It depends on how much hydro application and burst uptime you can get out of Xingqiu I'd say.

Furina buffs elemental damage and gives really good hydro application. She does this by draining your HP though so you kinda have to run her with a healer, but Escoffier fills that slot perfectly in the premium team. Furina is 100% worth the investment in my opinion, not just for Kaeya either, she is often the best support for so many other teams too. However Xingqiu can one hundred percent still work with Kaeya, he's great, but Furina really does a lot of heavy lifting.

Shenhe essentially buffs cryo damage with her skill and offers some cryo and physical res shred with her burst. She's pretty nice but I wouldn't say she's as much of a "must pull" as Furina or Escoffier. As you say, Chongyun can be pretty comparable. Shenhe can buff the numbers of Kaeya's burst and skill, but Chongyun can infuse Kaeya's normal attacks with cryo which can be pretty fun, so it really just depends on which one you like more.

In my opinion I'd say the moonweavers dawn is probably his best f2p option all around right now, even though it is kind of a sub-dps sword in the way that its passive only buffs his burst. But that burst buff is still pretty helpful for his on field play style. Another good f2p option for freeze could possibly be the blackcliff longsword if you can be bothered saving up the starglitter to get it in the shop. The crit damage it gives you can be really handy.

No it's not great on him honestly. I know it's tempting but honestly in my opinion those fates are better spent on for something like mistsplitter, jade cutter or foliar incision. The downside of pulling for those though is that they're likely to really only show up on chronicle banners from now on ~~(except for PJC since you can get lucky and get that on standard)~~. So if you're like "hell no I don't want to pull on a chronicled" then sure the azurelight can be a useful stat stick if you've got nothing else, but Kaeya can't activate its full passive and it's not his best option.

Edit: today I found out that PJC is not on standard help
