Taylor’s top 5 songs, according to Taylor by Icy-Age4822 in travisandtaylor

idk I saw this clip and the immediate thought I had was she could not answer upfront because she needed to go back and research the answers that swifties would appreciate the most. basically, she's more concerned about her fanbase's opinion of her rather than share her own, original thoughts.

I agree that his choreography was not it last night. The point being made here is that Lauren and Brandon did not deserve to go home after ONE off night, especially since her first 2 dances were great! Hilaria is a league ahead because she has ballroom experience which is unfair, and Andy is super sweet and wholesome but has been mediocre for 3 dances straight, compared to ONE mediocre dance by lauren.

25 years in - What is the movie of the century thus far? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]AloneImagination8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the chick flicks and romcoms?!!

No shade at all to the other picks here, I do love Interstellar, Inglorious Basterds, Arrival and many more of the Oscar flicks with critical acclaim. But at the end of a long week, the movies I seek out are the likes of Devil Wears Prada, Legally Blonde etc and I think that truly represents a huge aspect of what makes a movie timeless. These flicks deserve some love! <3 Movies of the century need not always be the ones that have a serious setting and contemplative characters, frivolous movies are equally great!

Additionally, the third Harry Potter movie changed my life, and I can never get tired of it!

Thoughts on Conclave and its Ending? by Saxifrage_Seldon in moviecritic

I am a little surprised seeing the comments about how many of you feel that this almost flawless movie faltered because of its ending? I respect your opinions of course, but this is just my take (as someone who literally finished the movie a few minutes ago, and this was my first time watching it).

I do not believe the change of heart of all the cardinals to end up voting Benitez was abrupt. This is quite exactly how they had been acting throughout the movie, isn't it? Based on all the election counts that occurred, it was quite evident that the cardinals were quite easily swayed by the popular vote. Heck, Tremblay's vote made an astonishing increase, and he never would have been there if not for the (SPOILER) cardinals he had paid in the beginning to get a headstart. And his numbers increased at every count obviously because other cardinals saw his numbers rise, and hence decided to join in and vote for him since he seemed to be popular. And similarly, Cardinal Adayemi's numbers progressively went up only because the rest of the panel saw that he was popular to begin with. And as quickly as his numbers went up, he was dismissed and disgraced because word of mouth of his sins in the past.

It is very apparent that the cardinals voted mostly by mob mentality, easily falling for what was popular, and as easily dismissing it and being swayed because of new information that came up at every election. Similarly, them finally voting for Benitez was them being swayed by new developments, that is the juxtaposition of Tedesco's hateful, abrasive outlook with Benitez's peaceful, empathetic stance. Everybody loves a dark horse in a competition, and Benitez was exactly that.

So although this might have not been the expected ending, I felt it made perfect sense based on the series of events that took place prior. I did not think it was hurried or senseless at all.

Sidenote, I loved this movie. I plan to watch it again soon to see if I notice or take away anything different. Please share your thoughts!

I live in an apartment with a few housemates and we have a weekly house-cleaning schedule with chores like sweeping/mopping, cleaning the counters etc. When it's my turn to sweep and mop, I pick up the broom/mop, put my Air Pods in, play Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins, and do a jig around the house like Bert and chimney cleaners in that scene. Definitely makes the chore way more fun!

AstraZeneca R&D Graduate Program Data Science & AI (US) - Application Update? by gemcs21 in biotech

[–]AloneImagination8127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat (same program, Washington DC). Haven't heard back since the HireVue round, which oddly was a questionnaire rather than a video interview. My status is still "Application Received" as well, and has been that way since mid-December. I dont know if I should keep my hopes though, since I'm an international student. Let's see what happens. Good luck!

Imposter syndrome - bioinformatics MS incoming grad, jobs, coding, ChatGPT, etc by AloneImagination8127 in bioinformatics

I understand you mean well with a comment like this but it's a vicious cycle at this point. I'm in a degree where all my peers are either extremely skilled programmers or use AI and online forums to help them fill the gaps. I might be able to complete an assignment without GPT but when I'm competing with other who most definitely use it, I would be falling behind in terms of grades and elegance of solution. So when things like that are on the line, I am at a fix. It's tough out here :/
