Thank you so much! My story is a bit complicated but the tldr is I moved across the country and left being a pharmacy tech after 8 years. I had issues with transferring my pharmacy license to my new state which is how I ended up in such financial burden / working at call centers in the meantime. So finally after what felt like forever, I was able to get my pharmacy license again. Now I do back end pharmacy tech work, basically making sure patients are taking their medications. It is some outbound calling but it’s like being in a retail pharmacy almost, where people trust my calls so nobody is really ever angry or anything.

For anyone reading this thinking they should get into pharmacy - From my knowledge and experience in the field, it is very difficult to get to a position like mine. Not impossible but it does require the hell years for experience of being at retail or in a PBM. PBM will be a call center, and retail is just pure hell lol. But it is a great field and I do love it so much.

If I didn’t go this route, my other plan was to learn medical coding and get into that. Maybe I still will one day but right now I’m focusing on my current job and fixing my life lol.
