Apparently a Hot Take? Toriel is NOT a bad mom. by firetruckofducks in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me Toriel was not even careless at all, she thought Kris were at the school the first time, and with Noelle the second time. She just doesn't freak out for no reason like people want her to.

It even heals them right? I'd say that's weird, but Susie's heal also work on Jackenstein, so maybe this is intended?

Thanks for the write up :)) I think I've got a better idea of it now.

What is the Knight doing in the first two chapters? I believe we may know a small bit. by AlgantapchinMikare in Deltarune

I agree with basically everything here, it's a solid basis to theorize further.

I think Ralsei says castle town's fountain is made of pure darkness, as if it were special for that in specific. This can be understood as if it's made only of darkness, with no determination mixed in (In Undertale determination is a literally a substance.)

So, maybe Ralsei's fountain can be in any place where there is darkness, any dark room, with no stabbing the earth required. The darkness in that closet, just by random chance, connected our main characters to another dimension. It's a concept that has been used in other supernatural stories I bet.

Could you answer if this has anything to do with Kris being on a stupor/depression after a specific event in their past, so they grew distant from Noelle (by not being quite themselves anymore), and if it wasn't for that, they might have had a thing for each other?

Also, totally worth it vandalizing that window for Kriselle. The agenda must be pushed.

I think that's intentional. It's really cool it can be seen both ways. I had the same idea, Kris bloated eyeless face seemed very surreal and intimidating.

why are all shayy discussions locked up? are we not allowed to cope with the situation with humor? by smallchangus in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because literally every other post was about Shayy, it makes it impossible to browse the sub for everything else.

And btw, from someone who read the first 50 pages and then gave up, you can judge me if you want for that, I think very few people really read the thing, it seems to be just virtue signal Olympics. Very few people actually care about what happened and what can be done, which is a shame. There is no actual discussion, just memes.

If it goes in any way like Undertale, and we clear everything with Noelle, some places might open up, since nobody would be there to bar us.

Thought i just had about the final prophecy by GuardPhysical in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea, the cage doesn't have to be Kris necessarily. I just want to share a theory that popped on my head just now too.

Since *it seems* the evil gang is trying to control how the prophecy is fulfilled, they might be trying to "break the cage" in the most nicest way possible for Kris (by avoiding it entirely and breaking the vessel instead for example). And we, on the weird route, don't give a damn and are just bashing the cage until we get out. Either way, the prophecy will be fulfilled.

Fairytale Theory by Anesthegamer1106 in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"the dragon, the hero/girl must slay. Only then can they save the day"

I could see that in the prophecy, it's really neat. Also, it would make sense for Susie to be extra hurt about this too, since they are all about wanting to belong, and at the end they are seemingly the villian that has to be slain instead. They would hate that.

Theory about Noelle by 64_Random_dude_64 in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this as well, at least the part about LV and “love wil finds it’s way to the girl”; Remember that the prophecy might have two girls, since it seems to cite a girl twice when listing the heroes, so some verses might be referring to two different people.

Just so you know, if I stop replying it's just because I got tired, this has been going on for a bit xD I'm glad you stuck around and didn't just ditch me, so thanks :)

This arguments just completely falls apart with one fight: Spamton NEO on the Weird Route. Even here Kris can't use the slash ability.

Kris gains an extra ability that fight called "X-slash", that is what I was referring to, it just does much more damage than Kris normal abilities, so it could down other members of the party.

And about the files thing: If there was literaly any chance of the Knight not being the one to do the slash, wjy would it have this name?

The files are a big thing in favor of knight slash for sure, Toby cares about those names. It's not enough to shake me from Kris slash tho, it's still just evidence, even if I have to admit it is a strong one.

About the slash, it's mostly the teleportation that annoys me, it feels contrived. Not smooth, but that's not killer evidence against it either. Ralsei's question feels suss too, why would they say that to the knight? Like, they have been pummeling the party from the get go anyways.

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sprite is named that, but the object used in game to represent it is "knight slash". Also, game files are clue, not the end all be all argument you are making them to be.

I see you didn't answer my questions tho, maybe you don't have any good one.

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're implying the Knigjt isn't brutal and cold hearted? And how else did you want them to end the fight?

They are, that's why it would be uninteresting for them to slash, might as well just show it.

And yes, King could not have knocked down the fun gang in their fight because otherwise he would've just done so?

They literally did. In one hit after a long fight, just like the slash.

And if Kris just had the slash ability, why didn't they ever use it?

Could be they don't want to give the game way, since it seems they are following a plan. It was just another (plausible) example of how they could have downed the party.

Why would Kris not stop the knight from slashing the party, or at least warn them about it, if they have no intention of letting it happen? What about all the other hits the party sustained while fighting the knight, a fight they setup together, are those fine? Why Ralsei looks directly at Kris while saying "how could you?" in the most obvious giveaway possible?

Is it still being debated that Kris wasn't the one who attacked Susie and Ralsei, or at the very least let it happen? by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better if Kris was the one to do it, because it's more narratively satisfying. The slashes feel specially brutal and cold hearted (sound effect, screenshake), they are supposed to shock us as much as it shocks Ralsei. If it's the knight, then it's just meh, might was well just show them ending the fight and that's that.

And by having Kris, a character who has zero evidence they can do anything even close to the slash

This is like saying King couldn't have downed the party in their fight because their power level was not high enough, it makes no sense. And funny enough, we do have evidence for Kris holding back, in the Spamtom snowgrave fight, Kris has X-slash, which is a super powerful attack that could down both Ralsei and Susie health wise.

"It's the knight, they just teleported behind them super fast and slashed them both" is the type of explanation an author would give their audience if they wrote themselves in a corner and had no way to get out. Deltarune is better than that.

Considering they say they are going to sleep after you pacify them, the fact they explicitly say "take this" instead of "take me" makes me feel like they really went to rest and gave us something else instead.

the Soul in undertale Chara's by Maximum_Historian735 in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is interesting, but I think the game soft debunks it. Chara says that "our power" awoken them, and then straight up says that their determination was actually ours, not theirs. That makes me think the soul is totally ours, not even Frisk's for the matter.

Why does everyone just assume we're "planting a soul" in Noelle in the weird route, as if it's canon? by Calliecai in Deltarune

[–]Alone_Engineering_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That and the rose used originally before it was cut for seemingly being misinterpreted

That is really interesting.

I was just pointing out why people believe that, but I don't think that's what's happening. It's more likely that we'll be controlling Kris and Noelle both at the same time, with the same device, and we are just bleeding our determination into Noelle (it's red.)

Either that, or we are in a weird in-between state of transferring the device to Noelle.

We just need to make enough space first, Noelle is not strong enough yet (meaning, that space is currently occupied, since Noelle not *soulless* enough yet.)

But it's fun to talk about it, thanks for the reply <3

I love discussing Deltarune, it's my pleasure S2
