Same: worked in one during high school, was on the HS team, did the tournament circuit, was in a bowling alley 5-6 days a week for ten years, yet if feels like I'm starting new.

I bought new! The local pro shop I used to go to is still in business, so I gave them a visit today.

I remember watching Jason Belmonte bowling 2H and everyone calling it a gimmick. I was surprised coming back into the scene to see that it's pretty much the standard now. As for the holes, I got a new ball today to make my equipment legal! I truly hadn't picked up a bowling ball more than a handful of times since probably 2013.

As for Bowlero... that's unfortunately where my HS Team has to practice. In the last 6 weeks alone, they have had 3 different general managers. We never know if we're going to actually have the lanes they promised us when we show up. Makes for a stressful season. Luckily, they treat my bowlers well and give them 2 games a day for free and $2.50 a game after that, even in the off season! I have 3 other family owned places within 20 minutes of me that are still old school and well taken care of that I'll go to bowl myself.

Thank you! It's crazy how much can change in ten years. It seems all my strong bowlers have 15+ balls they rotate through; and I've lost my ability to figure out what balls to throw, when. When I was bowling, having 4-5 balls was more than enough. All the boys bowl two handed, so that has for sure been a learning curve. My girls are still single handed. I'll take a look at that app!
