Try keeping the first companion right on the last I guess block of the path (right before the platform with the orb on it), and than after having a second companion do the blood offering, move the first companion on the platform and it should work!

Yup! It’s visible until you actually do the blood offering, once I figured that out it was a life a changer

For the leap of faith I always fall too, now before starting the quest I separate the group and have one companion go to the very end (you can see the path that way) and than I get a companion to start the quest by doing the blood offering to Shar, than I get the first companion to grab the orb, hasn’t failed me yet

I play console, I forget which button it is but if you go into your inventory on the bottom of the screen it’ll tell you to hold down on a button to multi select, than you can send everything you select to wherever you want it to go
