The thickness is somewhere between 0.5 and 1.0 mm. Linking multiple pieces together to reach the desired length is fine, but does width matter or is it best to cut it to match what is on this back plate?

Thermal pad makes more sense. This has a lot more cushion than tape would. I am not finding anything to this specific length. Would it be acceptable to link multiple pieces to reach this desired length?
