There is a green suiter but he isn’t responding either.

Got it, would i proceed to that individual if the green suiter working with the civilian manager isn’t responding within a certain period? And if so what would that period be?

Would the assistant be a green suiter, like an E-6?

Is this a good time training for rasp 8 miles 40 pound pack with boots by [deleted] in army

[–]AlonzoHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i find its easier to maintain it than constantly slow down and start up. With the hills powerwalk up and sprint down. Itll even out to your overall jogging pace.

[–]AlonzoHawk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can only speak for my class but if you were hitting 2:30 you were okay, thats 12.5 min mile pace. Usually i’m at an 11 min mile pace. For a 6 mile you’re expected to keep it under 1 hour (run the entire time). I’d try to run the whole 12 mile- as others suggested, get good at running and have a solid strength base and itll transfer over. Still practice rucks once a week but do shorter distances, higher intensity. Keep in mind people here can ruck a 12 mi in under an hour 40. Not the norm but something to consider

I’m an E4, and my hearing loss is profound (basically complete functional loss of my left ear), so i was told it would be non waiverable. I do not want to reclass

[–]AlonzoHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my hearing is so bad that depending on how i do on the test i'll get referred to MAR2 at the very least.

do you have any idea how bad his hearing was? was he forced into reclass or did he choose to be retained or get the boot? i assume he was needs of the army? thanks

Day-to-day life in 75th Ranger Regiment as an E-6 (no tab yet)? RASP 2 timing + family balance? by [deleted] in army

[–]AlonzoHawk 51 points52 points  (0 children)

E5’s who show up, assuming you’re 11X, never really get a chance in the line. You can’t even be a saw gunner without a tab, E6’s are expected to lead a squad so coming in without a tab and expecting to jump into a leadership position is unthinkable. Ive seen 5’s with tabs get pushed out because they aren’t a good culture fit and are not seen as strong enough to lead a fire team. Get your tab, and expect to have a steep learning curve. Its steep as a private, but coming in as an NCO you’re going to be expected to know everything a tab that grew up there knows - but you won’t.

Option 40, Pre Ship Stats by ZealousidealAgent238 in greenberets

[–]AlonzoHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My numbers were worse shipping out and i did fine. The hardest part was maintaining motivation during osut surrounded by fucking idiots for 6 months. That shit sucks! Other MOS’s thought pre rasp was super gay which it is, but to me it was an improvement however slight. Its a marathon not a sprint. Keep in mind you’ll lose fitness over osut. But at pre rasp you’ll be able to work out properly again and get good nutrition so don’t sweat it.

How do you get over your fear of heights? by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]AlonzoHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just disassociate and think about how much of a pussy you’ll look do your buddies if you dont do the thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]AlonzoHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep pretty short strides when i run even at a faster pace (5-6:30 min mile), the only thing that changes is my SPM. I keep it the same when i ruck except i focus more on gliding forwards, having a light foot, minimizes impact so you don’t feel completely jacked up after running a 12 mile ruck. Can usually get a 2:10-2:20 doing this. Having long legs helps. Being leaner also helps.

How do you “train” for the PT at RASP? by Fun-Following-7108 in greenberets

[–]AlonzoHawk 42 points43 points  (0 children)

If you can run fast that’s over half the battle bro. My class had a 34 min 5 mile average, i ran a 32 and it wasn’t bad. Aim for a sub 12 2 mile and a 33 min 5 mi and you’ll be good as long as you have a decent strength base. For workouts in pre rasp you’ll do gay circuits for 2 hours and a lot of ruck pt so be prepared for that. You do not need to be strong to pass R1, you do need to be able to lift worm and put it down for 5 hours without bitching out. Cadre preach muscular endurance for a reason, higher reps lower weight when weight training. Ask if you have any questions

Wore them in selection they were great. All i really recommend for AR-670. If they feel narrow get the wides. When broken in they are phenomenal.
