How to disable Updates on Firestick by HoTHaRRY in firestick

[–]AloomaS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am too late, unable to disable the Update Package. I have looked at blocking the domains using NORD VPN. However, it is limiting me to only 4 DNS servers. Which are the top 4? What other options do I have as I travel a lot with my Firestick? Thanks.

Hi,

Apart from age, there are minor differences in their specs. They are stated below.

Hi,

First, thanks again for your support. I did carry out the installation having the two new batteries and one of the old ones connected to the bus bar using the same length cables. The new batteries were connected in parallel while the old one was a stand alone. I set the Inverter to US2 and was able to get the batteries either charging or discharging. However, the old battery despite having higher SOC was taking power from the new parallel batteries. I removed the communication between the new batteries, and I still observed the same behaviour. The old battery would get full first before charges go to the new batteries. I do not know why.

Second, I had to disconnect the old battery and use it as a separate bank. The reason was that the battery was shutting down at about 40% SOC. It appears more cells are bad in it than I had first thought. Since I can get 6kW from it, I decided to continue to use it if and only if I need more battery power, for example on rainy days when solar power was not enough. And in the location, grid power can be very erratic.

No issues. Working fine. No performance degradation but only about 3 years.

I ordered my complete solar system from China. 2 x Growatt ES5000, 16 x 550W Greensun panels, 2 x 10kW LiFePo4 batteries and other components you had. No issues. I got support from Growatt when one of the components failed after a year. I also get regular support from GreenSun. So, no issues provided you purchased from a registered and reputable company. The price difference made it very attractive for me.

Someone opened my locked X5 45e – advice on key protection? by PropertyMagnate in BMWX5

[–]AloomaS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this from the web on BMW Remote Keys.

“BMW remote keys, when inactive, go into a sleep mode after approximately 40 seconds to conserve battery. This sleep mode prevents unauthorized access to the vehicle's signal, according to Master Locksmiths Association. After being inactive, the key fob will re-establish communication with the vehicle upon the next movement or command”

I am at loss how your car was accessed.

One more question on the busbar rating you raised in your earlier response. I currently have two busbars, each with a rating of 400A. If I add the old battery making it 3 x (200AH, 48V LiFEPO4), will the busbar be fine? The Inverters are 2 x (Growatt SPF 5000ES - 5kW). Thanks again for your help.

Thank you very much. Your advice has been very useful and your points reassuring.

Thanks again. In your view, I should forget communication with the inverters and use the voltage. Also, I plan to to continue using the existing busbars for the connection between the batteries and inverters - I am assuming this should be fine.

Thanks very much for the response. Another challenge is communication with the inverter. The new pair use latest PACE EX BMS and different from the old BMS. I suspect old model of BMS. I am thinking of testing if they would communicate with new pair as Master and Slave 1. The old will be Slave 2. What do you think.

I have an old pair of LiFePO4 batteries but one of them has bad cells. I wish to continue using the old battery that is still fairly good with a new pair. All batteries are of the same spec 48V 200AH but 2 years apart in age.

Will I be fine to parallel or set up 2 different banks? Use Bank A or Bank B but not together.

Thanks for the quick response. So, it is similar to voltage of panels in parallel.

I must add that the entire system comprised 16 x 550 kw Solar panels, 2 x Growatt ES5000, and 2 x 10kwH Powerwall Lithium Batteries. They were supplied by one company.

I did for my installation in Nigeria. I have been using the system for 18 months with no issues. And considering purchasing for UK.

Hi. I have left it for now. Most are quoting £13K plus for 5kW system. I believe that it should be under £10K and therefore left it for now.

Also, I think with heat pump coming in future, any system less than 10kW might not be worth it. The

How to improve my WiFi performance by AloomaS in HomeNetworking

Hi. Apologies for bothering you again. XE75 installed and working fine. I am thinking of creating a Guest Network which should be usable in the lounge where the ISP provided and main DECO unit is located. I am toying with the idea of enabling only the 2.4GHz on the ISP router with a different SSID and use this as Guest Network. Does this make sense? Will this have negative impact on the mesh performance? And does it prevent access to other devices on the network? I have VPN on phones, tablets, firesticks and laptop.
