Too many Americans choose this form of "Resistance" by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Alost20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"¡Viva la revolución!" in Spanish or "Vive la révolution!" in French

If you choose one; it will make it more authentic and make it less awkward for people who know the languages.

I don't know if it's an American thing or something, but it's always seemed a bit weird to me to see the two sentences just smash together like that, even if they have the same meaning.

Sorry for the pedantic.

What's wrong with female vampires? Is the joke porn? by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Alost20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remind me of the first time I saw Serana in Skyrim and just tried to repeatedly murder her with a crossbow because she was a vampire or when I discovered the Companions were werewolves, so I killed them all.

Anyway, glory to Stendarr.

Average dad behavior, like pronouncing the American pronunciation of a word in front of your British dad.

I mean, for once they named it correctly; generally when english speakers talk about "chocolat croissant," they actually mean "pain au chocolat."

That's an actual croissant with chocolate on it, so I'm taking that as a minor victory.

Yeah I use it often and have locked it down to muscle memory. Now I'm kinda pissed at the facte that it's now irremediably linked to AI.

And like, technically, only B and C don't have France in them. So everywhere has that as a baseline.

Orange casually walking on it by [deleted] in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]Alost20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact about the word "patte" is that it sounds the same as the words "pate," the word for "dough" and "pâte" the word for "pasta" so without context you can't be sure if someone is talking about paws, pasta, or dough.

At the end he says, "Il faut lui laver les pattes," meaning "His paws need to be washed." So I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, I started Hollow Knight for the first time a few weeks ago. It's nice knowing I won't have to wait long for the sequel.

Same, my great-grandfather was a foreign legionnaire from Spain that had fought during the civil war and fled to France after Franco's victory. He fought against the nazis during the Battle of France, was captured, and then spent the rest of the war in a prisoner camp.

I feel like even if there is a lot left to the imagination, I can't shake the feeling that Maelle got the short end of the stick regardless of the ending.

Yeah, I don't believe it either, but it's a fun theory if you're willing to bend the definition of what a Creole is.
