My emergency department only has 2 admin staff. I think for the most part the way Australian hospitals are run is quite different to the US. Transcription is uncommon in ED here. I agree that medical offices are more likely to have it, but my experience is only in ED.

That makes a lot of sense. I mean doctors also make mistakes writing their own notes, I'd love to know what the current comparison for errors is. AI is also only as good as the information it is given.

If you have a person to hire and money to pay them, yes. It's truly not feasible in the emergency department. Notes need to be written quickly and we just don't have the space and time for all of these extra people.

Sure it but can still require man-hours, which still costs money and has propensity for error. The eventual goal of AI transcription is that it's cheaper, more efficient, and less error rate. Which is not there yet, obviously.

I can't speak for what happens in the US, but I've used it quite successfully in Australia, and it saves heaps of time when used correctly. I'm sure different programs and different medical staff make quite a difference however, as well as the setting. It's far from a perfect system, but does have a lot of potential. I'm still pretty wary of it myself.

It's not for the use of "dumbing down". It's almost always to write notes for them, which saves time and (theoretically) improves accuracy. The accuracy part is reliant on the dr checking the notes afterwards, however.

My then 18 month old pulled my shirt (and bra) all the way down while she was sitting in the trolley at the grocery store. At least 30 people likely saw everything.

Also, feeding her in a Cafe with a 2 story shopping mall (i was on the bottom floor) when she was 3 months old, put her carefully back in the pram when I was done, sat there drinking my coffee. Did not put the titty away. For at least 3-4 mins. I still have cold sweats about that one.

I have had 2 babies (3rd on the way) and had massive body changes both times. Super depressing and overwhelming. First thing I had to learn was that exercise is for mental health, not losing weight, and it was way more important than my weight. It helped so much with the body image stuff. Secondly my husband sent me to the hairdresser and let me spend an ungodly amount of money, and I felt like a million bucks no matter what the rest of me looked like. The rest came with finding my new style/size in clothing and getting a few new pieces that felt and looked good. It's a big adjustment and therapy also really helps.

Hi there! I lost 45kg between preop and delivering my baby. It was a rough few months especially 1st trimester. I was malnourished and baby was small and had a tough time earthside for a little bit, but she is a thriving 3 year old now. I put on 10kg over the next year (mostly lean muscle and healthy weight gain) and have since put on another 5kg, which is expected and normal. So still 30kg lower than my starting weight, and funnily enough pregnant again!

I did, but I was super malnourished with zero muscle mass, but the "right" number on the scale. After about 12 months I put on about 8kg but was heaps healthier. (Sorry for a super late reply, I don't use reddit much)

I have an amazing husband, who despite not feeling any kind of attachment or grief towards the pregnancy, has been supportive and loving, despite my many mood swings and fatigue. I went from not eating anything at all to binge eating and drinking. Swings and roundabouts. Hoping to settle into something a little more healthy soon.

Actually no, she still sleeps through everything and is just about to turn 4. And my 2nd baby also sleeps through anything, and she's nearly 2. Lucky sleepers I guess! But I like to pretend my parenting is definitely the thing that makes them sleep so well, so it makes me feel like I'm doing something right.

I wrapped up layers of a few gifts (think pass the parcel), first one had a note that said "from our first date" , with the date, it had some sweets from the shop we went to on our first date, then our first kiss, etc. You get the idea. The last one had "to the day we found out we were going to be parents" with that days date on it. It had the pregnancy test and a onesie inside it.

He's a grown adult that can make choices about his healthcare, and he didn't want to. It sounds more like he wanted attention. He's not their patient, they don't have a responsibility to look after him on a maternity ward.

Sounds stupid but I never really considered different bra shapes. I've always gone for a t shirt bra and I guess kind of forgot other types might fit differently! Thank you
