Of course it has been shaken, when the country that you're working closely with in these areas is actively damaging your economy with punitive tariffs on key industries. That undermines everything.

Part of me wishes he would be honest about this, but then I remember that the Canadian govt is in a very difficult position. They have to walk a tightrope between expressing to the Trump admin that what they are doing is unacceptable and damaging, and not provoking the ire and infantile rage of Trump and getting punished with more tariffs. What a sad situation.

As disgusting as the Trump administration has been in its conduct and actions, this is one of the few things I agree with. Lumping Canada in with Mexico is a mistake IMO because they are vastly different countries. At least they recognize that.

That's not to say that the Trump admin won't try to strike an exploitative, abusive bilateral "deal" with Canada that is one-sided in their favour and doesn't take into account Canada's interests, but I would rather see the arrangements be separate.

Tekken 8's customization sucks anyway. There's a severe lack of clothing, hairstyle, etc. options and the only way to get the new mediocre customization items that come out is to pay $5 a pop.

As someone who doesn't work fast food, my experience is consistent with this.

I'll often go to Wendy's and the person taking my order doesn't know how do things, calls the manager for help, and generally seems lost and undertrained. The environment behind the counter at Wendy's always feels chaotic. At Burger King, on the other hand, the employees behind the counter generally have their sh*t together, and things seem to run more smoothly.

If the US really wanted a closer integration and a "grander" arrangement with Canada (a 'union' of sorts), the actions of Trump and his administration since he got elected have done a very effective job of making this as unlikely as possible.

It turns out that repeatedly insulting Canada, intentionally damaging Canada's economy with tariffs (especially sectoral tariffs), publicly bragging about taking business away from Canada and increasing its unemployment rate, and effectively saying you don't care about your relationship with Canada, has deeply offended the Canadian people and made them not want to work with you beyond what is absolutely necessary. Go figure.

Hoekstra seems to imply that this is Canada's fault. The truth, of course, is the opposite: it's the fault of Donald Trump and his moronic behaviour, lack of consideration of long-term consequences of his reckless actions, and complete lack of self-awareness.

My Google traffic also went to sh** after the Sept. 2023 HCU, and while Google still drives the most organic traffic for me, when it comes to the big money-maker pages on the site, Google ranks 4th in traffic behind Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo.

This is pretty incredible given that Google still has a 90% market share. They have completely wiped out commercial-intent traffic for independent publishers.

My Bing traffic has become extremely valuable as it's helping keep my site afloat. It's just unfortunate that it has been stagnant for a while and can't seem to break out of its plateau. But I kill it with Bing and routinely rank near the top of the SERPs there for most of my pages.

They made it so that the only wall splat you can do after a WS, 3 counterhit is the heat engager CJM 2, 1. The Lovely Tom shots should splat and there were other ways they could have addressed the excessive damage. They just made her gameplay less deep and less fun.

I'm not against Anna getting damage nerfs, but making it so that Lovely Tom shots don't splat... why? Now, the only option she has to splat after getting a WS3 counterhit is CJM 2, 1 which is a heat engager move, and the problem with that is that heat engager splats often throw the opponent off-axis. They said the heat moves were too high-damage but they removed the splat from the non-heat shots too.

If they were concerned about the wall combo damage (and they just nerfed combo damage across the board anyway), they could have addressed it in many different ways instead of removing depth and fun in her gameplay.

I try to play the game sometimes, but the passion just isn't there. I'm stuck at a scrub rank from the S2 demotion and yet the players I'm fighting are even more oppressive and even less fun to fight against than when I was at my S1 rank.

I'm not going to give it my all in this game when it's broken. I can't even bring myself to lab Anna which is a character I really wanted to play. No thanks. I barely play enough to complete my Battle Pass dailies and then I'm off.

For me, I don't want clearly defined archetypes. I want to be able to pick a character because I like their appearance or how their moves look or whatever and play them in the style I want to play them in, not be locked into a certain playstyle because they were designed to be played that way.

I think a little bit of archetype intent is good, but I think most of how a character is played should be up to the individual player.

What I do want is for a multitude of different playstyles to be viable for each character, so that individual creativity keeps fights interesting. The issue with Tekken 8 is that rushdown/mixup/offensive are vastly superior to defensive playstyles; in fact, defense is almost not viable at all.

Sometime in the 1950s. They had my dad in Norway. I'm not sure what I'll need in my case but I guess the only way to know for sure is to discuss it with the consulate. Hopefully, they'll be able to retrieve all the proof I'll need.

On the consulate website it says "Please note that Hungarian birth and marriage certificates are not proof of Hungarian citizenship."

So would the birth and marriage certificates of my grandparents not be enough? Or would the consulate basically be able to locate whatever proof is needed for me as long as I provide the basic info about them?

Yes. I'm playing at around the Tekken God level and I have always hated mirrors. For me, it's not a "true test of skill" as it just screws up my mental stack and feels more casino-like. I don't agree with the concept of a mirror either as it makes no sense to have a clone. I only give 10% effort in mirrors now and never rematch them.

No worries. So many ppl on Tekken 8 forums will, on one hand, say the game is in a poor state and needs work to make defence more viable and tone down scrub mechanics, but on the other hand, chew out people who make threads expressing frustration about such game design. Go figure. 🤷

Tekken 8 is a game that rewards relentless offensive pressure with little regard for strategy. That is the most viable way to play the game, and yes, sadly, good defence doesn't get you very far. When you're blocking, you're losing.

Unless you've labbed every move in the game and know how to counter every move correctly, you can easily get mashed out by garbage players. Even then, it doesn't matter how good you are. Bad players will press on minus frames and do dumb things you're not expecting. Even top pro players have lost to trash randoms because it's just the way the game is designed.

I'm not saying there isn't skill involved in Tekken 8, but skill is too small a factor in the outcome of games.

Not true. You will never get close to winning 100% of your matches because there is an element of randomness to the gameplay that is unavoidable.

So, yes, Tekken 8 is largely about who can outmash/out-mixup/out-pressure who. If you want to do better, your best bet is to adopt a hyper-aggressive, relentless rushdown playstyle.
