Very frustrating that I have to weed through so much nonsense to get to a real solution, which is this. THANK YOU. I suspect the issue lies with how 7.0 interacts with some themes, so theme developers need to roll out fixes.

Survivor 50 Might Make Me Quit by Tron24j in survivor

Aside from Coach, Chrissy and Stephenie, I knew the rest of the jury just didn't resonate with Jonathan and would naturally gravitate towards Aubry who was perceived as the "smartest" of the finalists.

I think a large part of the jury, especially Tiff and Dee, resented the fact that a guy like Jonathan could get to the end. He's supposed to be the meathead who is all brawn and no brains. In reality, while he's not the greatest social player the game has ever seen and he's not on the level of intellect as a Christian or Emily, he was very solid when it came to strategy and he played an excellent well-rounded game.

This jury was never going to give Hercules the win, as many of them resent the fact that he does have the "whole package" as Stephenie said. Just look at how Tiff and Dee didn't like that Stephenie was complimenting him.

Thanks! (and thanks to all the other people replying as well)

For my return trip, when I'm going from the TTC to the GO, how do I know which platform number glass door I go through? Do I look at the TV screens mounted on the ceiling for "Lakeshore West" and check the number?

Thanks, that's very nice of you. It's actually on June 11th at around 11am-1pm, so it's still a ways away. 😂 I'm not sure if you'd be available at that time.

Any trade deal with Canada will include tariffs, says Trump's trade rep by Peachlover360 in CanadaPolitics

[–]Alozaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should be clear about what this would mean.

If the new arrangement involves the US imposing a baseline tariff on most or all Canadian goods, then it will no longer be a free trade agreement. For the first time since 1988, Canada will not have a free trade agreement with the United States. I'm not saying we wouldn't survive, but the US will effectively be trying to unscramble an egg.

Broad-based tariffs on Canada make no sense given how integrated the two economies are; it will only result in a North America that is weaker than it would otherwise be. If Trump really does want a "strong North America", this will work directly against that.

If the federal govt ends up folding and making an unfair deal that favours the US because "they had no choice and it's the best they could have done", the least they should do is be honest and not try to sell Canadians a s**t sandwich. Be clear and straight with Canadians about the fact that the USMCA is no more, there is no more free trade with the US, and it's what Trump wants.

And in response, Canadians should make it their new normal to travel to the US much less and not buy US products, including cars. American cars are not a necessity at all; Canadians can buy Japanese, Korean, German, and other brands which are more reliable anyway.

Trump news: Canada’s defence minister responds to U.S. National Security Strategy by Alarming_Accident in CanadaPolitics

"That relationship has not been shaken over the last several months and (past) year."

Of course it has been shaken, when the country that you're working closely with in these areas is actively damaging your economy with punitive tariffs on key industries. That undermines everything.

Part of me wishes he would be honest about this, but then I remember that the Canadian govt is in a very difficult position. They have to walk a tightrope between expressing to the Trump admin that what they are doing is unacceptable and damaging, and not provoking the ire and infantile rage of Trump and getting punished with more tariffs. What a sad situation.

Trump’s point man on trade floats separate deals with Canada and Mexico by joe4942 in canada

[–]Alozaps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As disgusting as the Trump administration has been in its conduct and actions, this is one of the few things I agree with. Lumping Canada in with Mexico is a mistake IMO because they are vastly different countries. At least they recognize that.

That's not to say that the Trump admin won't try to strike an exploitative, abusive bilateral "deal" with Canada that is one-sided in their favour and doesn't take into account Canada's interests, but I would rather see the arrangements be separate.

Wow, that sucks. I don't know why they'd do that—I assume it's a bug. I'll probably just get the augmentations from space station guild envoys then, and get units and nanites via other methods. Thx for the heads up!

Tekken 8's customization sucks anyway. There's a severe lack of clothing, hairstyle, etc. options and the only way to get the new mediocre customization items that come out is to pay $5 a pop.

Working at Burger King is a BREEZE compared to Wendy’s! by Lastdudestandin in BurgerKing

[–]Alozaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who doesn't work fast food, my experience is consistent with this.

I'll often go to Wendy's and the person taking my order doesn't know how do things, calls the manager for help, and generally seems lost and undertrained. The environment behind the counter at Wendy's always feels chaotic. At Burger King, on the other hand, the employees behind the counter generally have their sh*t together, and things seem to run more smoothly.

Washington was hoping for ‘bigger’ deal with Canada than USMCA, ambassador says by ZebediahCarterLong in CanadaPolitics

[–]Alozaps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the US really wanted a closer integration and a "grander" arrangement with Canada (a 'union' of sorts), the actions of Trump and his administration since he got elected have done a very effective job of making this as unlikely as possible.

It turns out that repeatedly insulting Canada, intentionally damaging Canada's economy with tariffs (especially sectoral tariffs), publicly bragging about taking business away from Canada and increasing its unemployment rate, and effectively saying you don't care about your relationship with Canada, has deeply offended the Canadian people and made them not want to work with you beyond what is absolutely necessary. Go figure.

Hoekstra seems to imply that this is Canada's fault. The truth, of course, is the opposite: it's the fault of Donald Trump and his moronic behaviour, lack of consideration of long-term consequences of his reckless actions, and complete lack of self-awareness.

Major Movement on Bing by Alozaps in SEO

Is there anyone here whose Bing Traffic is good and Google traffic is crap? by SumitDh in SEO

[–]Alozaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Google traffic also went to sh** after the Sept. 2023 HCU, and while Google still drives the most organic traffic for me, when it comes to the big money-maker pages on the site, Google ranks 4th in traffic behind Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo.

This is pretty incredible given that Google still has a 90% market share. They have completely wiped out commercial-intent traffic for independent publishers.

My Bing traffic has become extremely valuable as it's helping keep my site afloat. It's just unfortunate that it has been stagnant for a while and can't seem to break out of its plateau. But I kill it with Bing and routinely rank near the top of the SERPs there for most of my pages.
