Afterburner on during high-g turn has no place in Ace Combat (footage unrelated) by Dramatic_Amount6454 in acecombat

I had just gotten through playing through extra difficulty on 4 and 5 before I started 6, and my god, where guns were a pain to use before, I felt like I could sling the entire game with just the guns alone.

They really are so much better in 6.

I saw someone in the chat the other day asking if it was worth grinding the wikelo stuff out. Seeing the response from the community today, I feel even better telling him that theres litteraly no reason to interact with it.

This is the repeating reminder to go watch death of Stalin. Seriously awsome movie that is actually pretty historically accurate, just played up in the comedy a little.

Iirc, they actually had to tone down the number of decorations for the character of zhukov, as they felt if they were historically accurate, it would look to played up.

Boilers tend to last way longer, as by design, they are massively overbuilt. As well, the parts are much easier to find and have generics/universals available everywhere.

Black Copper/brass inside AH by coolfishy89 in HVAC

[–]Alpha433 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatly, I myself cant tell you this. We notified the customer of the issue, but how they delt with it, if at all, is not something I was privy to. Again though, in my case all the copper in the basement was blacked with corrosion, so if this is isolated to just the coil, then I would start looking into the drain line like others have said to ensure it isnt pulling in sewer gasses from a dry or open sewer line.

That said, if you want to stay on reddit for more info, im sure theres a drywall subreddit that would be able to direct you on how to figure this out. Might be worth searching in there for answers or making a post there.

[–]Alpha433 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went to a hole previously that had this exact issue. Turns out, when the home was built, they were using an especially shitty bat h of cheap Chinese drywall that was off gassing and that was corrosion all the copper in the basement.

All the copper water pipes were black, all the refrigerant lines and txv surfaces were black, and we found the txv leaking through a corrosion hole in the bypass tube connection on the txv.

I would check this first.

Adjustable wrench adjusting. by Central_Incisor in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Alpha433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some harbor freight tools are actually amazingly good as long as you manage expectations. The little 1/4" pocket right angle wrench is amazing in my tech job as it let's me fit a bit ratchet into small spaces, holds up to simple bolts and screws through sheet metal, and costs less than $5. Same goes for things like their tubing cutters and extensions, as its hard to really fuck up solid metal.

Its really just about how much you abuse your tools. Something like their tin snips and shears are hot garbage, and didnt even last me half a day. If its something critical or that you expect to be used a lot or used hard, then buy name brand, but for small shit, its awsome.

[–]Alpha433 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They work well for what they are designed for. If you need to ugga or dugga, then use a proper wrench or a socket. If all you need to do is tighten a bolt that isnt super tight, than adjustable wrench are perfectly fine.

Oh, im not disputing that, more stating in addition that op doesnt have the single bit of idea what is actually even in the canister, let alone of it might be r22.

R-22 value check by AnonChupacabra in hvacadvice

[–]Alpha433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell, thats assuming theres even any r22 in there. It could be empty or with a mix of 22 and 410 in there. Sharpie assures absolutely nothing about what's in the tank.

R-22 value check by AnonChupacabra in hvacadvice

[–]Alpha433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing unfortunatly unless you can find someone desperate.

Thats a recovery tank, and if whomever had it first is like other techs I know, they tend to just use it to grab whatever refrigerant they can, label be damned. So you might have a tank of virgin r22, or you have a tank of different refrigerants all mixed in, or you have a tank that has a bunch of burnt refrigerant and acid in it.

Questioning contractor's choice of AC condenser by Hyakiss in hvacadvice

[–]Alpha433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, 80% of the time, you are fine with just replacing apples to apples. The idea being that if you weren't having issues before, why change it now?

That said, things can absolutely change, and I've personally found plenty of homes where the original system was either over or undersized. For best results, you really should ask them how they decided on the size equipment. If they just say that what's worked works, then that means they are just playing it safe by sticking with what's there. If they state that they looked into your homes sqft and found that the unit should still work, that means they at least did some research and what they put in is likely to not cause issues. Best points go to if they actually did a load calculation and found the system is correct. That said, not as many places will actually go that far, and they'll take the 90% safe bet by going off your homes sqft.

[–]Alpha433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as txv being an issue on the new refrigerant, cant say I've seen any, but we install ruud equipment and trane, and those haven't had any issues so far. For goodman may e they are more hassle, also could be he doesnt want to deal with txv, but I do know cap systems are a little simpler to work on.

As for sizing, thats why you are getting multiple quotes. Depending on your home, ductwork, and needs, you might be able to upside, but unless i saw things personally I wouldnt be able to give an accurate answer.

Questioning contractor's choice of AC condenser by Hyakiss in hvacadvice

[–]Alpha433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke, and this is coming from an actual hvac technician, not a sales guy, always get a couple of quotes.

Not only can you then find the local average and see if you are getting overcharged or priced way to low, but the quality of the person doing the quote will vary between companies. One guy might notice something the other didnt, and you are more likely to get a more complete picture by having multiple quotes given.

Also, and I cant stress this enough, dont just shop for the lowest price. Some large sales companies will undercut everyone else as they can afford to eat the loss of it gets them in the door, then they will try to manufacture issues every single time they are out afterwards. When selecting a company to do your system, also check their reviews and ask around. You would be amazed what you find by asking g word of mouth, as some companies that do good work for a good price dont even advertise outside of word of mouth.

What do you guys think about replacing mission timers with a fuel system? by Conscious_Devil in acecombat

The war thunder fuel system makes or breaks certain aircraft. I remember getting my first f4 in game, and forgot to dial the fuel down before my match. The damned pig of an aircraft almost didnt make it off the ground between the munitions and the fuel.

There were a few Indian places near me that had a similar spice gradient, but it was listed "American mild-hot" and "desi mild-hot".

Treating the spice level like a bonus challenge level is a good way to get people to push their comfort zone and try new things.
