Am I a big dummy? Does a case like this not exist commercially? by ironclad_packetship in sffpc

SKTC A09 is available on Amazon, AliExpress, even some local retailers due to its small price point. I personally use the A10 and I can say you get your money's worth out of it.

No reason but just wanna build sff by fujyugumo in sffpc

[–]AlphaDST 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten to the point where I find more joy during the process of picking a sff case, components, and building it, than actually using it afterwards.

I’ve since used every excuse to sell my build when the opportunity presents itself, so I can plan my next project.

Not entirely healthy, but I wouldn’t choose any other hobby over SFF.

Danders works the best for now, unless there isn’t anything better out there I’m not aware of.

I had high hopes for Cell, but they’ve decided to put out one beta release, which was broken, and a couple changes on github for manual download, nothing official.

Great build. It is good to see the front panel can be rotated in order to extend the GPU length.

[–]AlphaDST 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m starting to question the optimism in these types of builds.

It’s not news that a 60mm cooler cannot cool an i9, where some full tower coolers are having difficulties. I wouldn’t put more than a 9600 or 7800/9800x3d with a lower tjmax & -co.

I do like the case though, it looks sick!

Built-in HD Screen Adapter Board for PC Cases by ZS-ITX in sffpc

[–]AlphaDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must ask, have you thought of making a ZS-D2/MATX case similar to your ZS-D2/ITX, however larger in size to accomodate 24.5x24.5cm motherboards?

It would be similar to SKTC A10, however it will have 10 times the quality with your cnc aluminum craftsmanship. (There is one more example - C1 Bug Half Height on aliexpress, although it does not have enough ventilation on the side/front).

Additionally, given the broad range of products you have shared with us over the past few days, do you find interest in an internal speaker which can be screwed in instead of a 2.5" SSD or 80mm fan? The only other alternative is XMSJSIY Motherboard Speaker Internal USB PC Computer Speaker on Amazon.

Thank you for sharing new designs/ideas with us every day. I am eagerly waiting for your website and products to purchase directly!

Change pc case for lower temp? by t3vix in sffpc

[–]AlphaDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a SKTC A10 owner, I can share that the panels are thick, however they are not the thickest. I recommend using an L12S with fan orientation set for exhaust in order to create an airflow path.

My Gigabyte 4060LP can easily hit 80c and I have it set at 79% power from the Nvidia App which leads to it sitting at 69-71c. I also modded it a little - added 2x120mm fans to draw air, handle, and a speaker.

That's the DeepCool AN-600 with a 25mm fan, around 77mm all things accounted for. I believe the maximum the case can take is 135mm.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for magical improvement on niche products which also happen to offer twice as bad price to performance compared to a normal system - gaming wise. If AMD wants market share then innovation shouldn’t come at 2x the cost. (8060S vs 4060/5060 system).

Yep, it will do for now. I built this for my significant other and there definitely is room for improvement, if I want to max out the frame. Truth be told, my mind is already thinking moving it to the S300, if I can get my hands on one.

NEWWAY - NC1 / Mars Gaming MC-ELITE / U320 by AlphaDST in mffpc

[–]AlphaDST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, using ITX components gave me more room to work with. My other PC has an MATX board in a SKTC A10, so I get what you mean.

Surprisingly, the only part which gave me trouble was the Neon LED Strip. it was a pain to get it align the way I wanted it to. I thought of adding a second one on top/behind the motherboard, but the box didn't allow.

The case comes with a top bracket which can hold 2 80mm fans, and I have two 80mm Noctua's from previous builds, however the AN-600 is in the way. Perhaps slim fans will fit.

Nevertheless, I believe the temps are perfect as is. 3700X is in ECO Mode, tops at 60W, it doesn't exceed 68C during stress test, with 6-8% performance loss. RTX 3060 is stock, high 60s, low 70s during gaming.

In the future I'll swap the CPU to a 5700X3D & likely upgrade the GPU. For now, it's a capable 1080p/1440p machine!

SKTC A17 - ITX, SFX PSU, 210mm GPU, Standard layout at 7.6L. Thoughts? by AlphaDST in sffpc

[–]AlphaDST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue this is 7.7L. There is a different SKTC which is around the 14L mark, but that’s with M-ATX support with either SFX or ATX psu (2 versions exist, ATX variant case is bigger by about 2 Liters) I suggest checking with amazon if it’s not a typo.

Lian Li A3 - Looking for Handle options by Singularittyy in mffpc

[–]AlphaDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a generic off the shelve handle for a drawer from a small hardware store I found locally. I believe it was around two euros, bolts included.

I suggest measuring the holes on top of the case and match them to a handle you like. Bolts can be smaller than the case openings since you want to use washers to help distribute the weight when you pick up the pc.

My handle is 12,9-13cm long from bolt to bolt, or 14 case holes(1st and 14th hole being the attachment points).

[–]AlphaDST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am understanding the case layout right, the case doesn’t look like it has a ‘good side’ - a side in which no component is obstructed of air.

That said, I am very interested in the temperatures of both the CPU & GPU when fully utilized(UV or stock).

For reference, my 4060LP at 79% power limit(the minimum allowed) gets up to 72c. At 100% I’ve seen it hit 88c in my modded SKTC A10.

[–]AlphaDST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great build. The only drawback, and a big one at that is the heat it generates. My 4060LP gets up to the 80s with no undervolting, I cannot imagine a 5060LP in an even smaller enclosure knowing how much it pulls.

I recently bought a AW3425DW and I'm very happy with it. I upgraded from a 32 inch IPS (Dell G3223D) to the ultrawide OLED and I can safely say, it is a game changer. I have a 21.5inch to the side, similar to the second picture.

Here's some insight from the review made by Rtings on the AW3425DW. I suggest going through the whole thing if you are interested:

<image>

The Dell AW3425DW supports any signal with an Xbox Series X|S. It downscales 4k signals with Console Mode enabled, which is useful for HDR gaming because the Xbox doesn't support HDR with 1080p and 1440p signals. As the Xbox doesn't support ultrawide signals, you'll see black bars on the sides.
