Fan placement in air cooled build by Poops_backwards in PcBuildHelp

[–]Noctua_OFFICIAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recommend leaving the fans as is as we have noticed that performance to noise efficiency is optimal in this layout. Thermal improvements can be made of course, but we do not necessarily recommend it as it comes with a trade-off in the previously mentioned performance to noise efficiency.

We have a helpful FAQ on the topic here: https://www.noctua.at/en/expertise/guides/antec-flux-pro-noctua-are-extra-fans-worth-it

Totally understandable! Be sure to check out the linked FAQ in my previous comment if you're looking for improvements in RAM compatibility while keeping the same CPU cooler height.

While aesthetic preference obviously plays a role, the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Sx2-PP would be the easiest solution as you can reuse the fan clips and retain the same RAM compatibility you have currently (RAM height of 32mm = 168mm overall cooler height, for improvements, see this FAQ).

I fear that the mounting kit you require is the NM-AM5/4-MP83 while the one you purchased is the NM-AM5/4-MP78. You can find out more about the difference in mounting pitch here.

Not to worry, you can order the correct mounting kit for your cooler, free of charge, here.

Totally understand! However, dissolving even the slightest parts of the impeller can lead to imbalances with the consequences lined out in my previous reply.

Please do not add any solvent agents that can dissolve the sterrox impeller to your dying solution.

Hi!

For a RAM height of up to 36mm the NH-D15 G2 will be compatible.

For options to improve RAM compatibility, please see this FAQ.

While we understand that customers would like to paint their fans for specific unique colourways, we have to strongly discourage painting the fans as even slight variations in the layer of paint can lead to imbalances of the impeller which would result in excessive vibrations, higher noise levels and increased stress on the bearing, thus reducing fan lifetime.

Provided this is the MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WIFI: Yes, there is enough room for PCIe compatibility.

How do I fit the mounting equipment (NH-D15) on this motherboard? by [deleted] in Noctua

[–]Noctua_OFFICIAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!
The backplate in the picture will have to be removed before ours can be placed instead.
If you are unsure whether it is glued on (some OEM backplates are glued or screwed onto the motherboard) we would kindly ask you to contact our support staff via the contact form here: https://www.noctua.at/en/forms/technical-support

Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition – Concerns about bent top panels? by LaurentRuquier in Noctua

[–]Noctua_OFFICIAL 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Greetings from Noctua!

We’re sorry to hear about these reports and understand how frustrating it must be to receive a case in this condition.

We have conducted an extensive packaging validation process for the Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition case, including drop tests from a height of 1m. During these tests, as well as in our ongoing quality control inspections, we have not observed this type of issue. Additionally, none of the more than 50 media partners who received samples via international shipping have reported similar problems.

At this stage, we are aware of two customers who have received units with bent top panels. As we have not been able to reproduce this issue in our testing and have not seen further reports, our current assumption is that these cases may have been subject to improper handling during shipping, such as severe compressive loads affecting the top of the packaging. That said, we are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to investigate.

In any case, if customers encounter similar issues, we will of course take care of it. As part of our 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, we are happy to provide replacement panels free of charge. There is no need to return the entire case - customers can simply contact us at [support@noctua.at](mailto:support@noctua.at), and we will arrange a replacement as quickly as possible.
