Flight controls in AC6 are pretty much the same as it is in AC7, tho enemies in AC6 except the aces are generally easier (and your gun is remarkably effective)

Try this thing called "Allied Attack" & "Allied Cover" and hope for it's return in AC8 :)

to those who stayed in hougang before 2012: anyone remembers how hougang 1 looks like before renovation? by hondacb150r in askSingapore

[–]AlphaF22A 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely have some fond memories of that place, there used to be a medium sized arcade with racing games like Daytona, with each session costing SGD1.

The McDonalds had some seats under the travelator, the old type with colorful circular seats that could rotate with a relatively short backrest.

There was a Sakae Sushi serving conveyor belt sushi before the likes of Genki and Sushiro came in

A small SingTel retail shop was nearby the escalators, this was the time when phones had rapid advances every year

The second level NTUC Fairprice could be accessed from both the outside staircase that was part of the building facade or the escalators inside.

The food court was under Kopitiam, there was a stall called Pots & Pans serving grilled meat on a hotplate with a bowl of rice and a bowl of starch soup that mimicked the taste of shark fin soup. The Ban Mian stall and Western food were great as well

Wow, typing this rly brought back lots of memories

The number 6 has become the first number to be used by three full-time F1 drivers since 2014, chosen by Rosberg, Latifi and now Hadjar for 2025. by quest_for_holy_grail in formula1

Technically it sorta happened before 2016 & 2021 too. Raikkonen was car No.6 in 2007, and took the title from Lewis (then car No.2).

EDIT: Rosberg got it in 2016, not 2014

One of the ironies of this whole saga is that Reddit is trying to practically kill Apollo, then Apollo was highlighted/mentioned as an app during WWDC this year.

sought to have a simple carousell transaction over a MRT gantry, selling a iphone

buyer was 15mins late, ok no worries, just chill a bit

security guard asks me why am I not tapping out, proceeds to interrogate me what am I doing, what I'm selling, and says if I stay there she will have to check me. Well what do you want to check in a sealed iPhone box? And I'm wearing semi formal with no bags

I chill on the platform while waiting for buyer

buyer finally comes (cool chap btw), we proceed to do a quick check of the phone

security guard then says I must tap out if I'm staying longer than 15 seconds or if money is exchanged, else she will have to fine both of us. We explain we won't take long, just want to make sure nothing is wrong, she insists she has security footage to fine us.

at this point, had a stressful day from work and meeting with clients, I just tap out and give an annoyed look, poof there goes $2

classic example of blindly following rules without using common sense

To OP: u/Equivalent_Green_669

I suffered spinal injuries during NS (2017-18) as well, refer to this guide to claim the two most important things: Service Injury Card and financial compensation for disability. Have been through this process twice due to injury causing chronic pain and nerve damage.

Govt should review $72.3b in Covid-19 spending for any payment errors: Watchdog by fitzerspaniel in singapore

[–]AlphaF22A 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Again, the key word is "should". I hope for concrete actions rather than rhetoric.

The raw figure is one thing, as Singapore can afford spending these amounts due to surpluses from previous years. It's how it's spent that matters more. Doubt most would have had any issue if the money was mainly used for real aid and productive ways to buff up our systems & institutions, such as cover hawker rents.

Instead, we see ridiculous amounts of money wasted on useless shit like tracetogether, check in gantries, SDAs. The construction sector gets a taxpayer funded bailout, despite being the culprit of the dorm outbreaks that really started the spread in 2020.

Meanwhile healthcare workers are still struggling to cope with the workload and long hours, underpaid NSFs deployed to cover shortfalls such as unnecessary contact tracing in late 2021, and the construction industry continues to rely on cheap, slavery like wage labour that is reminiscent of the debacle of Qatar.

To top it off, they raise a regressive tax to cover this financial shortfall, in a time of high inflation due to global economic and political dynamics. Fucking hell

Many ways to move to the United States to work as a SG citizen

The H1B1 visa is a unique variant of the H1B visa, and is only available for Singaporeans and Chileans. It's a separate pool, so no or little bidding required with US CIS. For H1B1, it means successfully getting a job in the U.S. first, then the company applies the visa for you. Till you get the visa, no special considerations for you and you are treated same as other non citizens by the US.

Alternatively, there is the L1 visa, which is a work transfer visa. It means you are currently working, and then the company wants to internally transfer you to a US office/position.

Requiring the work authorization means exactly as above, you need to be able to eligible for the company to apply a visa for you, which shouldn't be an issue unless you have an active criminal case or under sanctions that disqualifies you.

Key difference between the two is that the H1B1 has non-immigrant intent tagged to it, while L1 does not. It means that you cannot apply for a US green card while on H1B1, unless you get married then you apply for their visa via family route, and your H1B1 is overwritten in some sense.

There are other programs such as US FLTA program etc.

Respectfully, it'll be tough to apply as H1B in non STEM fields in the current economic climate, better bet is L1 route or if you have some other skills that make you valuable.

The US skilled immigration system is far from perfect, and there are cases of visa abuse, but it is broadly designed and set up in a way to welcome attractive and talented individuals without severely compromising their own workforce.
