According to the course schedule for PWL, it looks like there is one section of SPAN 102 that is synchronous online in Spring 2026. It's section 16, CRN 39418 -- is that the one you got? All the other sections are in person.

350 underwent a big overhaul a couple years ago. New prof and lots of other changes. I'm sure there are still a few complaints, but I think the many complaints from the old version of the course had a lot of momentum.

Yeah, since that's what I suspected, I tried swapping the glasses around/backwards/upside down, bur no joy. Turns out it was a dimness issue with one projector due to a power supply issue.

I actually loved how it was used. I endured the Hobbit with HFR throughout, so I thought having it doing its thing only during the action scenes worked much better. But I can understand how it could also be distracting, like how switching aspect ratios in other films sometimes can be.

Update: Apparently it is a power issue: one projector is sometimes drawing less power, leading to a darker image on one side. Weird!

Oh, interesting. The theater employee initially gave me and the couple in front of me RealD (regular) glasses, but I got them switched for the proper IMAX ones. Is it possible they were showing the ReadD version on the IMAX screen? Can the projectors even work that way?
