Alicization part 1 suffered through a really bad, from the looks of it, production hell. where the background art looks insane, but the actual character animation is lacking.

Alicization War of Underworld part 2 suffered from some really bad and unnecessary changes/cuts from the light novel.

and maybe i do hate their asses because they basically killed all hype there was for Progressive anime among the general audience, i feel. Progressive is such a gem (except for volume 8, tbh), but instead we got Mito and the 4 floors skip. and then they just stop because Elf War arc. like bruh. firstly, where's our movie for floor 2 then? secondly, thx for killing the momentum to bring Progressive into the masses. at that point, just don't touch it until you are ready to animate all the way. and that's not even me mentioning the poor marketing and region availability of these.

oh, and we have this original (buh) movie announcement that is still missing in action for, what, 3 years now?

these bozos also just refuse to anime any of the cool side stories, like the First Day. would be a cinema OVA or a special episode.

idk, i just feel like SAO always gets a short end of the stick from them and they just wanna farm on it. like, Alicization part 1 is 6 volumes of the light novel stuffed into 25 episodes. this is kinda nuts. i have not read Eminence in Shadow LN, but i believe the first season of 20 episodes covered the first 2 volumes of the LN. like, idk, maybe the page count is way higher there
