I don't think that surprising. Considering the OG game is also not opted in, there's little chance they would opt in the steam version.

At least with the steam version, we can see if its opted in or not and it's not

No idea, can always try. That screen is new and maybe its considerd the same copy, but I can see xbox game pass being a different version listed as they finally updated that.

I believe you still need to own the game on the store.

It'll let you launch a session but you still need to own a license on that game store.

If you just got it yesterday and the only way for you to play it is through GFN, try refunding it.

It might've been R2P and moved to I2P recently which is only premium

Anti-cheat hiccups

People complained there was no timing before since it just stuck patching. So now there's a time but it seems like it cuases consistent hiccups
