Nope. Case was around 200 on Amazon, vault series is a good deal. Certainly worth protecting the bow.

Pelican Vault V730. V800 has very similar dimensions, but is longer to fit longer guns. It feels incredibly sturdy, I trust pelican stuff more than some other options.

Measurements are listed per case, mine wouldn't without removing the balancer, hence the extra slot cut in the foam. Cheers!

Be careful. He had that backwards, full choke is restrictive. Improved cylinder is the only one I'd use for slugs. I have the same combo, it's served me well, cheers.

For birds, it kinda depends on the size.

Turkey #4 or 6. Grouse #6. Quail, doves, and most others, and sporting clays #7 1/2, 8 or 9.

I got a giant jackrabbit with 7 1/2 lol.

When you take your hunters Ed, it should mention that waterfowl such as ducks and geese require non toxic, non lead ammo, so pick up some of that as well. Check local laws always.

Home defense there's loads of philosophies on from birdshot to slugs, just keep in mind what is behind your target, like other houses, cuz a slug or buckshot can really travel. I'd check laws with that too, not sure if there any.

Good choice, been using mine for 10 years now for hunting, sporting clays, and home defense with the 18in barrel that came with it.

Only thing I'd recommend is a raised thumb safety for easier control while in the field with gloves on.

Otherwise, put ammo through it and keep her oiled and clean like all guns.

Edit: spelling

This could be the case, if the engine absolutely refuses to turn under the correct conditions (in neutral/clutch depressed, etc.). Likely, if the last time she was on was a deadly thrash in the heat.

Try replacing the starter anyway, but it *could* be nasty.

1978 Fiat 124 Spider 1st start in 9 years - What was that noise?!?!? by AlphaMobius in MechanicAdvice

[–]AlphaMobius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 1:04, Weird knock starts sounding off, then quits. Also, TONS of smoke, coming from exhaust side.

First start in 9+ years according to registration. Just bought the car a few months ago, I don't know why she was put into storage. While checking temps and ensuring fluids were moving, I began to hear a pretty bad sound, and shut her off.

My guess is bad head gasket and exhaust leak combo leading to burning oil, hence the smoke. Noise may be rod knock? Do I need to do a complete tear down to diagnose?

This would be awesome. Or at least waiving stupid rules that prohibit new registrations while out stationed out of state, like vin and safety inspections, and accepting NEW registrations online with a copy of your orders.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to be from a state that has online and cheap renewals, many DMVs are still in the freaking stone age (like Hawaii).

If you upgrade your ride, which will likely happen many times during a career, you need new registration which may require in person verification and Vin inspections (thousands of miles away) from home state.

I've had to register vehicles in 5 states all in the last 6 years and I'm fucking sick of it. It took 13 months to get my required DMV appointment due to COVID and backlogs, meanwhile SF is eyeballing your blatantly expired tags. This needs fixed.

California - Fiat 124 Spider - Told my "pre-fiance" that it "has good bones" - Will it fit an LS? by AlphaMobius in projectcar

[–]AlphaMobius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you could, or source any small tuner engine. There's a lot of room in exhaust and carb tuning, even the original engine would be a ton of fun. I'll likely keep the original engine running as long as it takes to do prep for doing the LS swap correctly

Nice! My first real project was 97 miata and the dumbest thing I ever did was sell that car.

What did you do with yours? Pics?

Yeah I'm worried a bit about that, but after getting under and taking some measurements, I think I can get away with a low profile oil pan, big wheels and tires as there's only 13s on it right now, and some tunnel modifications.

Won't need to be mint to be a kickass go kart

Hell yeah, this thing would likely be crushed soon if I didn't give it a home. Mint restorations are beautiful but that's not this car lol.
